Months have passed, that summer ended, autumn felt short, and winter was as cold as how they gaze upon each other.

Hyunjin didn't want to expect more, he didn't need to expect more, he just let time go and trust whatever it is the universe plans for the two of them. How they treated each other, never returned to the same state, but it wasn't as bad as it seems. They would still meet up on their usual schedules, walk to the train station together. Though words were limited— they still talked.

It seemed like Minho had put his walls up again, pushing Hyunjin away in the slightest manner.

On that same crossroad during that certain summer, after the confession, after he tried to patch things up, Hyunjin talked to Changbin for advice. He was always the person Hyunjin could rely on without fear of judgement, and he was the only friend Hyunjin trusts most.

"I recently confessed to someone I really like, but it's one sided as I expected. I respect their decision, but I don't want them to push me away, I still want to be with them even not as their lover, I want to show them i care, show them my sincerity without them thinking I want something in return. I just.... Want to be there for them, I don't want them to feel alone, especially when they feel like the world has fallen on their shoulders."

"In these circumstances, there's only one answer to what you can do."

"Give up?"

"You stay by their side."

The past few days in present time however, there were visible changes in how Minho acts. He was quieter, tired, even lost a concerning amount of weight in a short time, whenever he looks at Hyunjin he looks like he was on a brink of crying. Minho rarely looks at his phone when they are out, but it has been frequent for the older to check for messages, a sigh would always escape his lips when there was nothing sent.

After a bit of an awkward and quiet dance session that week, the two walked back in complete silence yet again to the train station. Minho breathed out cigarette smoke to the snowy atmosphere, the winter wind blew and the smoke passed through his face making him grunt, Hyunjin couldn't contain his laugh.
Minho didn't look at him and just lit up another cigarette, blowing out the smoke again.

Hyunjin wanted to ask a lot of questions but he felt like he already invaded Minho's closed personal space far too much than he should, and Minho doesn't look to be in the best state right now. They've been slowly getting closer again, and he doesn't want to ruin what they've been rebuilding.
They stopped for a moment, waiting for the cars to pass by and the countdown for pedestrians to cross on the streetlight. Minho looked up at the night sky, sighting the snow, and sighed a cold breath with eyes fragile as glass.

Hyunjin glanced towards him and couldn't help but feel his heart skipping a beat.
So pretty.....
He muttered under his breath seeing Minho just standing there watching the snow fall, his skin a lot more pale than when they first met but still soft looking, his hair under his beanie, lips a little chapped, cheeks and nose red from the cold, and his glass eyes reflected the falling snowflakes.

It didn't snow yesterday.
Hyunjin commented and Minho hummed a confused response, still reaching out his hand to the falling snow.
They say snowflakes appear, when angels are near.
He smiled at the older who slowly lowered his hand and looked at Hyunjin with a small amused smile.
I'm no angel, Hyunjin.
He laughed a little but Hyunjin couldn't help but stare at him again, the way his eyes turned to crescents, the sound of his laugh, his smile, everything about him was prettier than the falling snowflakes.

Hyunjin let Minho lay on his shoulder to sleep, the train and distant chatters the only sounds heard in the atmosphere. The older was tired, really tired, that Hyunjin wanted to be his resting place even for a little while. He glanced at Minho, who's breathing was a bit heavy and slow, his long eyelashes curtained his closed eyes, lips a bit parted and cheeks still flushed from the cold. Unconsciously, Hyunjin reached out to touch his cheek, his soft pale skin being brushed gently by the fabric of Hyunjin's winter gloves. Such a lovely sight Hyunjin was lucky to behold.

You're just an angel.
Hyunjin whispered and kissed the older's forehead, his lips brushing against his soft and fluffy brown hair, breathing in the scent of Minho's candy scented shampoo.
Who's wings got broken.
