4. The Boss

The butterfly keeps on moving around me. I guess it has a motion sensor. It moves according to my movement. So fed up with its buzzing sound. It pisses me off and that creepy guard I guess his name is John. He is making it worse for me everyday. He slaps me for no reason. He speaks to me while catching my hair in his firm grip. This is more like a physical assault. They stopped giving me food after Emma's scene. And that is making me more dizzy and weak. "Mia look into my eyes baby. I seriously don't want to hurt you but you are making the things worse." he says in a hushed tone. He is getting on my nerves. I have no strength to reply to him. I just turn my face sideways and look at the butterfly. I guess my face is swollen from all the slaps he has given me. And the bruises are worse on my wrist. They are almost purple. 

"When are you going to kill me." I ask John when he comes to check on me later. "Why so curious to die?" his tone and expression are both filled with shock. "Coz I don't want to see your face everyday. It's either I die or I escape. The later can't happen. So I wish I can die." I say avoiding his gaze. "John, just kill me if you want to. But before killing me let me know the reason. " tears start brimming in my eyes. Why the hell they want to kill me. I have never hurt anyone. And who is their boss. I want to see him/her. Whoever wants to kill me. "John I want to meet your boss!!" I say with determination fixed in my voice. "She wants to meet you" he speaks to his boss on the walky. "Yes. Okay I'll let her know." he sighs "Meeting the boss means you will die today. Is it okay for you" he says while putting his walky in his back pocket. I just nod. I can just die without all this shit thinking I'm going to hurt someone for helping me. Emma has gone through a lot already. "I'll send someone to give you some clothes and something to eat." he says and goes to the door. 

I was expecting him to send a different person but to my surprise Emma stands in the doorstep with clothes and some fruit. I am so glad to see her. She comes to me and gives me a weak smile. "Good to see you in one piece Mia. They didn't kill you even after you tried to escape. You should have gone that day. You should have just left me here. Why did you come back for me. I willingly sent you that day. I know that they will kill me. But you should have escaped." her voice is shaking and she is crying. I try to reach her hand "I can't  let someone sacrifice themselves for me Emma." She just kneels down before me takes my hand into hers "I'll do something to help you Mia." she says and kisses the back of my hand and leaves the room. No! I can't keep her life at stake. Why is she doing this? Why is she so persistent? With all these thoughts I take a shower to calm me down and eat some fruit to get some strength. I should atleast have strength to speak when the boss comes.

The door swings open and a man comes in followed by his guards. They are dresses in all black. I guess the first one is the Boss because he has that negative vibe vibrating from him. Not that the others are having  a positive vibe but this man has more. His hair and the glasses make it impossible for me to see his face clearly. "I heard that you want to die Miss. Blaine" his voice startles me. It is filled with vengeance and anger. He comes closer to me and smirks. But it scares me. He looks at me like a predator looks at its prey. "Speak Mia. John said you were so curious to see me. " he turns to look at John and then back to me "If you kidnapped me just to kill me then why am I still breathing?" my voice is so weak might be because of lack of strength or may be because I am scared. Scared of his presence. He stays silent for sometime. "Ask all the questions you wanted to ask me. I will answer them all at once" he says with a adamant voice. "Who are you? Why do you want to kill me? and why didn't you kill me yet are the only questions I have" I ask him looking at the floor. "I wanted the perfect time to kill you, the deal is not yet settled. You will die someday." he says and turns back. "Reason?" his body is shaking with anger. I am scared by his presence. He takes a shining object from his pocket. A knife.

 I try to move but I can't . He comes closer to me. All the guards try to stop him. But he pushes them and aside. I close my eyes in fear. I can feel the cool metal on my wrist. The pain spreads. I scream in pain. He cuts me in various places. He feels satisfied when I scream. "Sir, the deal is not yet disclose. We brought her as an asset. If you kill her we can't get what we want. Leave her" I hear John speaking I don't know who they are speaking about but I lose my composure. My vision gets blurred.

Now I feel the cold metal on my neck. I know I am going to die now. The pain spreads all over my body. "Emily " he whispers into my ear. With that I fall back with a thud on the floor along with the chair. But before I lose my consciousness I hear the door open with a loud bang. Some shouts some screams gun shots and many more. I feel someone lifting me up and I lose my consciousness completely.
