7. You are my everything

AFTER 2 MONTHS:

It's been 2 months but we couldn't find the culprit. We tried so hard but we didn't have even a single clue. The cops say that the killer had gloves on so there were no trails of fingerprints. I was sitting at my desk and looking at the case files. Just then my phone starts ringing and see that my mom is calling me. even before I spoke to her she says "Aaron Em woke up." I couldn't find words to tell. I am so happy that she came out of the comatose stage fast than expected. I just cut the call and head to the hospital. Meanwhile I text Damon and Mia about Em. I go directly into the room. She looks a lot healthier than before. I go and hug her but she whimpers in pain. I pull back. Though her bruises are disappearing she still has pain. The doctor comes to check her vitals and leaves the room.

Just then Mia and Damon come into the room. Mia sits in the seat beside Emily's bed. Em is happy to see Mia. They both talk to each other for a while a Mia gets up from her seat and goes to the door. Before she opens it Em says "Mia ,Aaron if you want me to give a statement about that day's incident, I am ready. I will help as much as possible. I want that guy to die." We were not expecting her to say these words. We have been battling with us everyday on how to tell her that Aiden is dead when she wakes up.  We look at her questioningly.

EMILY'S POV:

Aiden went to buy icecream for me. I was sitting on the swing and someone came and stood behind me. I thought it was Aiden but when I looked back there was a man and his face was covered with mask. His presence sends chills down my spine. Before I get up and he pushes me forward. I fall on the ground. He takes long strides and settles himself behind me. He looks fit but I think he is in his mid forties or fifties. "Hello angel. Sorry for the inconvenience but I need to kill you." with takes he takes a knife from his pocket and start cutting my skin in different places. The pain is unbearable. But I don't want to give him the satisfaction of hurting me. So I just stay silent. Just then I hear footsteps. The person before me flinches in surprise but he returns to his previous state but only to hurt me more this time. He kicks me in the stomach, cut my skin again. I lose my energy I try to push him back but he is so strong for me. Aiden comes with ice-cream in his both hands. He immediately runs towards me. He kicks the person so hard that he falls onto the ground but even before Aiden could make the next move he pulls a gun and shoots him. Aiden falls down. While that thug is coming towards me Aiden pulls him back. He shoots Aiden again qnd again till there are no bullets left in his gun. After that he stabs me in the back. With that I lost my consciousness.

When I open my eyes again Aiden is surrounded by his own blood. Blood his pooling by his side. I slowly get up and try to mive towards him. But the pain in my back is making it worse for me to move. But I pull up my strength to reach him. I sit down beside him. He whimpers in pain. I take his head into my hands and pull him closer to me. "You look cute even when you are crying baby" and gives me a smile. "We have been dating for 5 years yet you never told me how much you love me." he says. I love him so much. I take my phone that fell near the swing and call the ambulance. "Stay quiet till the ambulance come" I say looking at him. "Em I love you." He says and falls back on to the ground. I try waking him but he doesn't move. His pulse is not there. He is not breathing. I can sense people around me but I can't gather up my thoughts. They pull him away from me. But all that I feel is the pain in my heart. I slowly fall onto the ground. He is dead. He died trying to save me. I never answered his question. Aiden I love you soo much. You mean the world to me. You are my everything. I love you Aiden. Thus is the first time I am telling this in these 5 years but you are not here to listen to me.

Later when I wake up I am in the hospital. My mom is crying beside me. She senses my movement and calls the doctor. The doctors nurses come and ask me how I am feeling. They tell me that I have been in comatose for 2 months. I just nod. Mom calls dad and Aaron they come to see me. Aaron hugs me in excitement but I whimper in pain. He looks at me worried. It must have been hard for him all this time. Mia and Damon come to visit me. I speak to Mia casually. When she is leaving I tell her "Mia , Aaron if you want me to give a statement about that day's incident, I am ready. I will help as much as possible. I want that guy to die." I see the questioning look on their faces. I tell them what happened.
