"Hospital... but I'd be on my way back to the office later." I'm whispering to my phone while making my way out to the emergency stairs since Rosé was calling me after I was on my way out from my mom's ward. "Um? Okay. Just text me... What? Hahaha alright, Chaeyoung. Yeah, of course... of course, I miss you too." I'm smiling softly and rubbing the nape of my neck shyly because of her. Ah damn it, she knows how to make my heart feel good these days. Then I remembered Jennie.

Sure, Rosé isn't my girlfriend yet but I think she deserved to know that Jennie is staying with me for a while because of that incident. I took a deep breath before I spoke again, "Babe? I want to tell you something".

*Y/n's apartment

"Jen?" Y/n suddenly called me while I was staring at her. I sat on the stool in front of the island counter and took this opportunity to stare at Y/n who was making dinner for both of us. "Yeah?" I replied to her before I faked focusing on my phone instead of her. "Um... I just want to inform you that... um... tomorrow, I won't be home," she muttered unsure. I just blinked my eyes for a moment. "May I know why?" I don't want to be nosy when Y/n is just my friend now but I'm curious.

Especially when I still have this little feeling of holding on to her for god knows how long now. She only glanced at me at first before turning off the stove carefully then grabbed two plates. "You remember Chaeyoung?" I tilted my head a bit then nodded softly as a sign for her to continue her talk.

She placed our dinner on the top of the island counter properly and gave me utensils. She walked around me and sat on the stool beside me before saying, "I'm going out with her since she just came back from her overseas work two days ago and I plan to stay over at her apartment and then maybe go to work in the morning. So... um are you okay to be alone? I mean, it's only for one day. No, maybe almost for two days. But you can call—"

"Y/n." I put my hand on her right thigh casually. I'm smiling softly. "I'm fine with that. Have fun. As long as you know that I'm here, safe and sound at your place. Yeah, I would call if I need you." I'm grinning cutely towards her which makes her just nod softly and eat her dinner. "Make sure..." she spoke again while twirling around onto her dinner and looking down at it. Then she stopped her twirling and turned her attention to me. "Make sure you call me, okay? If you need anything."

"What am I to you, Y/n? A toddler?" "Sometimes." I don't want to get my hopes high now. Because I know Y/n is only being nice. I'm just her good friend that happens to be her ex who's still in love with her.
