Elayna's POV.
Chanting, all I can hear is chanting. Or, is it singing? It doesn't matter. I guess it's an improvement over the nothingness of death. But I can feel things, the air brushing off my skin, the soft touch of a hand against my face. What is going on. I open my eyes to see a blinding light around me. I close my eyes and blink a few times. When I look around I am in a vibrant meadow, all in one piece, no knife sticking out of me. I look down and see even my clothes have changed. So this is where we go after death? It's peaceful, but very lonely. Rolling hills in the distance and a clear blue sky.
I suddenly get the feeling to start moving. Towards the hills. So thats what I do, after a while I begin walking downhill towards a forest. When I reach the bottom I stop. Something is stopping me from taking one step further. I look down and finally notice the dress I am wearing. It's an off the shoulder dress in a lovely shade of lavender and it has a long train. But the material is not heavy, in fact it feels as light as a feather. I feel something heavy atop my head and reach up. I feel cool metal under my fingers as I realise I am wearing a crown.
I look ahead to the path through the forest. Wondering why I can't move forwards, when I notice people walking around a bend down the path. Something about them seems familiar, but I can't quite put my finger on it. I stop, looking around as I wait for them to approach so I can ask them what the hell is going on. It takes only a few moments. The people approach me, holding hands. I smile, it's nice to see such a bond. But, my smile turns bittersweet as I remind myself that I won't have that any longer. The woman is carrying a basket of what seems to be wildflowers and the man has a bow. But when the get close enough they look away from one another towards me and the woman takes a deep breath. "Elayna?" she whispers.
