December 24 20XX (7:04 AM)
Makoto Niijima stared at the small calendar on her desk, a small circle had fenced the date in. It was a reminder, she had been patiently counting down the days until Christmas Eve. However she wasn't expecting presents from her friends, nor from her sister.
She was expecting the return of (Y/n).
Her boyfriend had left for Tatsumi Port Island on the 20th, and after a heartfelt goodbye he and Mitsuru had promised to return in time for Christmas. Makoto couldn't help but feel giddy, being away from (Y/n) always made her act like this, and despite experiencing longer separations in the past. The past four days were torture for her.
She missed how he could smile to calm her, the teasing, how sweet he was when they were alone, and even the time they had spent alone...
Makoto shook her head, she could feel the heat on her cheeks. Bad Makoto--she scolded, she'd save sexual fantasies for another time. For now she needed to get out of bed, and start the day.
Upon exiting her room, Makoto was met with her elder sister Sae. The ashen haired Niijima was already dressed, and sat at the dining room table sipping a cup of coffee as she read today's news on her tablet.
"Good morning." Makoto greeted, Sae responded in kind as Makoto sat before her sister. "So do you have everything ready?" Sae asked, Makoto smugly nodded. "Of course sis, I've been preparing for this day since they left."
"I'll just make sure." Sae responded, her eyes unmoving from her tablet as she read the lines of text. "Did you decorate?"
"I had Ann and the others help me out." Makoto answered.
"Prepared the food for tonight's dinner?" Makoto nodded, she'd actually prepared the meal a little too early. While she was sure the food wouldn't spoil, she knew that it would have most likely gone cold by the time dinner rolled around. Oh well, nothing a microwave couldn't fix.
"Sis, its fine." Makoto assured. "I want today to be perfect, and I'll make sure of it." Sae couldn't help but be impressed, Makoto was determined to make this Christmas Eve perfect in every way she could.
Christmases at the Niijima household weren't the best, there was no denying it. Sae had plunged herself into work the moment she had graduated, feeling that her need to provide for her family was more important than the family she was providing for. She was grateful for the Phantom Thieves for showing her the error of her ways, and tried to make amends with Makoto every chance she got.
"I hope so." Sae responded. "Ignore my worrying, I'm sure you've accounted for everything." Sae really needed to calm down, why was she worrying? Makoto was a capable young woman. "And I'm sure that (Y/n) will love the gift you've gotten him."
"Yeah." Makoto beamed, then paled. "His gift!" She exclaimed, clearly panicked as she erupted from her seat. "I forgot (Y/n)'s gift!"
Perhaps Sae had spoken too soon.

Ren Amamiya was always an early riser, a habit he had developed in the past year. Perhaps it was just an effect of Morgana always forcing him to sleep earlier, whatever it was it did not change the fact that Ren was awake and at the train station early in the morning.
Ren smiled as he saw the cause of his early awakening, a male his age with a well defined blue streak in his hair disembarking from the train. Ren threw his hand up to signal the male.
