Keralis' POV
~~~~
One minute I'm being chased by a dragon and crashing into a building, and the next, I'm in my own bed only to wake up to Badtimes watching me.
"Uh... hi," I said, rubbing my eyes as if that would somehow make him disappear. All it did was allow me to not have to see him for a few seconds. When I opened my eyes again, there he was.
Badtimes smiled, and stood up from the chair he was sitting in to... watch me. "Morning, sleepy head. Feeling okay?"
I took a moment to think about it. I realized I felt normal. Nothing hurt. I didn't feel sick or anything. But I crashed into a building, didn't I? "Yeah, surprisingly... I'm just fine," I answered, my surprise obvious in my tone.
Badtimes nodded and sighed in relief. "Good, so I did it right, after all! The god stuff is new to me."
I raised my eyebrows. "What... you're a god? Like Xisuma?"
"Yes- don't act so surprised!" Badtimes replied, crossing his arms as he looked down at me. It was clear he was offended.
I looked around the room as if expecting something to be missing- or maybe there was someone else watching me sleep too. Maybe it was becoming a popular pastime. The room looked normal, so I looked back up at Badtimes. "Thanks for healing me, I guess... but why were you watching me sleep? Isn't that a little weird?" I prompted, sitting up against the wall.
He shrugged. "Sorry, but I had to make sure you were okay, and that my healing you didn't make it worse. It's just- I had to heal you. You hit your head pretty badly, so I tried to fix it."
"Tried?" I asked, starting to get worried. Well, I was already worried, but this wasn't helping.
"Yeah, and I did a pretty good job of it, too!" He sat down on the edge of the bed, and looked at me with a confident smirk.
I sighed. "So you did a good job of trying," I summed up, not too convinced that I was okay. I felt okay, but was I? Did Badtimes actually succeed at trying?
Badtimes sighed. "Calm down, wide-eyes! I succeeded perfectly, I'm sure of it. No need to worry." He reached over and ruffled my hair, smiling.
I rolled my eyes. "Okay, but if I find out you messed up, I'm going to... " I trailed off. I hadn't thought of a good threat, and I just woke up, so I was too tired to think of one.
Badtimes chuckled. "...Not going to give me free book vouchers?" He finished for me.
I shrugged. "Yeah, that works." Missing out on free book vouchers would be very sad for him.
"I sure hope I haven't messed up then!" He said, clearly faking being scared.
"Aw, come on! The book vouchers are great! Who wouldn't want them? Who wouldn't want to buy a book? For free???" I asked defensively, crossing my arms.
Badtimes sighed, and looked at me apologetically. I couldn't tell if it was faked or genuine. "Please don't take this personally, wide-eyes! I just don't need your wonderful books if I have powers."
I nodded. "Okay, that actually makes sense," I said, still upset that he didn't want book vouchers. How else was I supposed to threaten him?
"So did you think about lamps?" Badtimes asked, suddenly.
Oh no, here we go again.
I raised an eyebrow at him. "What's up with you and lamps? I mean, I like them too, but..."
