3 MONTHS LATER
"Babe"
I answer
"Hey boobear"
I'm still trying to get used to her calling me that, it's weird but she likes it and it's cute I guess. She and i still haven't had sex, honestly it's been difficult but I'm not pushing for a change. Just this once I'd like things to go at a slow pace and see where it leads us because i really like Asante, shes different than the others before her.
"I'll never get used to that. What are you doing?"
I ask her
"The dress has just been delivered"
She says sounding a little too excited. I'm glad that her style is changing a little and shes getting more comfortable dressing out of her comfort zone
"You sound happy so I am assuming it's everything you hoped for"
I say
"It's beautiful babe. Thank you"
She says and I smile
"I'm happy that you are happy. I'll send you a driver to fetch you to take you to a make up artist"
I tell her even though I know she's never tried make up before but i know she'll do it for me
"you know that's not necessary"
She says and I chuckle
"can't you just say thank you and not make my life difficult just this once? Anyway I have to go, I'll text you everything"
I tell her
"Thank you BooBear and bye"
She says and I automatically smile
"Bye Snowflake"
I say and we cut the call. I make my way out of the studio heading to my place when I get a call from Siwe.
"Ntwana"
I answer
"Chomzam. How are you?"
She asks
"I'm all good man and how are you?"
I ask her as I walk to my car
"Im good skeem. I'm calling to wish you luck on your day and to congratulate you. I'm proud of you my friend"
She says and I smile
"Thank you Chomzam. I'm heading to my place now for the final fitting"
I tell her and she chuckles
"Better send those pictures!!! I want to see everything. Let me leave you to get back to your life friendship neh"
She says and I chuckle
"Bye skeem, talk tomorrow neh"
I say and we end the call. I drive into the complex talking to my barber who tells me he will be at my place in an hour or so. I get out of my clothes and wear sweatpants and a t-shirt while listening to music. My phone rings and it's my manager.
"Sup"
I answer
"Hi kiddo. About the video?"
He reminds me
"Everything ok?"
I ask him worriedly
Its going to air at 4pm today on MtvBase as a spanking new. Trace will air it at 4:30pm"
He says and I do a mini air punch
"Awesome stuff. I look forward to it. Has the time slots been posted on the socials?"
I ask him
"Relax. Just focus on today kiddo and we'll talk at the party"
He says
"Ok great. I should go now"
I say
"Bye kiddo. Congratulations"
He says and I thank him before ending the call. I clean up a little around the flat while waiting for my barber. My parents finally got me a place of my own and I couldn't be happier. Not that I had a problem with living with Lumi but now when you live with someone theres bound to be a few things that they going to do to irritate you. Like how he only cleaned when he wanted to and what not. Lumi is clean but not like I am and lets not forget his friends that always came around. So I had to move out.
The house phone rings and I answer, its security telling me my barber is here. I tell them to let him in.
I check the time as he starts cutting my hair and decide to check on Asante because knowing her she wont tell me when she's done.
"BooBear"
She answers
"Snowflake are you done?"
I ask her
"Almost done, you?"
She asks
"I'm getting my hair cut. My driver will drop you off at my place so you can change here"
I tell her
"And what about you?"
She asks and I frown confused but answer anyway
"I'm at the apartment"
I say and she giggles
"rich people problems"
She says and I laugh
"get your pretty ass here"
I say and then end the call. I hear the security gate open and I assume it's her since she has a key to my place. She walks in
"Boobear. Hey"
She greets me and then my barber who is now trimming my beard. She looks beautiful with her hair tied up in a style I cannot describe but looks good on her either way
"hey"
The barber says
"Snowflake"
I say looking at her through the mirror
"you look amazing"
I add and she blushes
"Thank you"
We continue chatting until we are done. I walk to the bathroom and take a shower and then come back and we change into our outfits. She helps me wear my graduation gown and then we take a couple of pictures before heading out

"So what time does the video drop?"
She asks and as I'm about to answer her phone rings and she answers
"OMG"
The person screams the minute she answers her call such that she removes the phone from her ear laughing
"Friend"
She calls out trying to calm her down
"Lets videocall on Whatsapp"
She says and drops the call quickly, she laughs
"and then?"
I ask and she chuckles

"That was Esona"

She says and I chuckle, i actually like Esona and Vela, I feel like the others from school including Pamela, they don't go with her personality and just the way she is. Vela seems like a genuine friend and a huge fan of I who wants nothing but the best for her friend and Esona too even though I haven't met her yet but they good people and bring good vibes. Her phone rings again
"Honey!!!"
she screams out and we both laugh
"What has you so excited?"
Asante asks but she doesn't respond, she waves her hand on the screen
"You look like a princess. What's the occasion?"
She asks and Asante chuckles
"Hey Eso"
I say and she smiles as Asante shows both of us on the screen
"Hey you, where are you guys off to? You look amazing!"
She says and we smile
"Thank you"
we say in unison and then look at each other and giggle like idiots
"We off to my graduation"
I respond and she screams even more, we laugh
"By the time we get there I won't even be able to hear my name"
I joke and she rolls her eyes at us
"You called me all excited"
Asante says and she chuckles
"I just watched your man's video. You look like a natural"
She says and Asante giggles
"I'm glad you like it"
I say and pull her hand to plant a kiss on it
"I loved it and so does everyone else. It's trending on twitter hashtag New Girl"
She says, I renamed the song to 'new girl'
"and people are asking who you are babe!"
She says looking all so excited
"We'll check it out later"
I say
"Anyway, you kids enjoy the day"
She says and then blows a kiss
"Congratulations Aaron"
She says and drops the call without waiting for our response leaving us laughing
"Your bestfriend is something else. I can't wait to meet her"
I say to Asante who smiles proudly
"Some day you will"
She says quietly
"You really look beautiful. So what's the story with your hair?"
She frowns looking at me, I raise my eyebrows waiting for a response
"I dont get your question"
She says innocently looking confused
"Black girls dont have hair like this unless you have a white descendant or something. No offence"
I say and she shrugs. Asante has long curly hair and it's my first time asking her about it. Her hair is not black but its brownish or so and its curly and soft. I really thought it was a weave until she told me it was her natural hair.
"None taken. Maybe I have a white descendant or something or I'm another Pearl Thusi or something"
