Chapter 25

Nobody could have ever prepared for this, I walked out of the kitchen with Sienna on my tail talking, if there was ever a time I wished my sister didn't talk much it would be now.

"Sienna could you please just shut the hell up!"

I yell and she goes silently instantly. I sit down and take a deep breath trying to think of how to handle this situation. If there was ever a time I needed those grade 9 life orientation assignments about drug use it would be now. How do you deal with finding out your brother has been taking coke, I mean how do you approach him without alarming him. it just doesn't make any sense why he would do drugs, Sandile has everything. Our parents provide us with everything, including attention so I can't say he's acting out or something.

"Aaron we have to do something"

Sienna says and I look up at her

"What do we do Si? How do we even approach him?"

I ask unable to hide the frustration and she shrugs her shoulders

"Where is he anyway?"

She asks

"He went to his room, he was super high when I walked in"

She stands up

"Where are you going?"

I ask her

"To check up on him. Maybe you don't care but I do, he's my brother"

She says walking out, I let out a huff of frustration and follow behind her but she's faster than I am. I don't want Si to blow this out of proportion and we end up losing him or something. Sandile is not much of a talker, he's always locked up in his feels. I always thought it was a teenage faze and never thought much of it, maybe something has been bothering him. I'm disturbed from my train of thoughts when I hear Sienna's piercing scream and rush up to Sandile's room in full speed and him convulsing with something white coming out of his mouth. I quickly dial the ambulance and give them all the details of what's going on and they say they will be here soon. I call mom

"Hey baby"

She answers

"Mom you need to meet us at the hospital, Sandile overdosed"

I say and she goes silent probably trying to understand what I just told her

"Which uhm... which hospital?"

She asks and I give her the name

"Where are you now?"

She asks

"We called the ambulance but I'm thinking of driving him there myself"

I says

"Yes, drive him to the hospital because it's going to take forever. I'll call your father to meet us there"

She says and then we end the call

"Si help me get him to the car now"

I say to her but she's too traumatized to even move

"Sienna!"

I say snapping my fingers in front of her face and she looks at me

"Help me get him downstairs ok? We driving him to the hospital"

I say to her and she nods. We help him off the floor and make our way downstairs and all the way out to my car and then I get in the drivers seat and drive us to the hospital. When we get there he's rushed inside and I'm left to answer the little I know about the situation. Mom walks in with dad and they rush to us, Sienna rushes to hug dad and mom hugs me tightly and breaks the hug
