Chapter 6

"Are you comfortable?"

I ask Asante resting my hands on the arm rests caging her between my arms and she smiles and nods. She came with her friends Vela and Pamela, it's almost 4am in the morning and we want to get the best lighting to shoot the scenes we need for today. Andile is still not here which is unlike him.

"Yes I'm comfortable thank you"

She responds, I nod while looking at her soft looking lips. How I would like to get a taste of those, I've begged her from all the way from her place to here to be my leading lady but she's flat out refused. I move my eyes from her lips to her eyes

"You hard to figure out"

I admit because I have been trying to get her to notice me or do something but she just won't budge

"Meaning?"

She asks

"Usually pretty girls have a bitchy attitude and want to be taken care of and all that other stuff but you are simple and don't want none of those things"

I admit from the little I have observed about her, she's almost too perfect to be true. She's humble and she's all sweet and stuff, there's literally no red flag about her either than the fact that she's not fazed by my charm

"Ok everybody I am here. I am so sorry I am late, is everyone here"

Andile says walking in

"That is the director. Andile Ntambo, he is the best director there is and has worked with some of the best in the game"

I tell her and she nods, I turn around and then stand beside her

"So where is our leading lady?"

He asks and Vela raises her hand answering

"Here"

She says shyly

"Oh, come here. Aaron"

Andile calls out my name, I lean down and whisper next to Asante's ear

"I'll be back"

And then walk over to the Andile, we greet each other and fist bump

"Ok, so this is what's going to happen right. Aaron told me you were there when he met you and your friends and for him that inspired the video. I want you to be comfortable and free as you were when you met him. I understand that this is your first time doing this?"

Vela nods shyly

"hey, you'll do great"

I encourage her but it doesn't do the trick

"Aaron, I don't have to say anything either than try and get her to relax. We need this to be perfect"

Andile returns to his director chair besides Asante while Vela and I take our positions

"Action"

Andile shouts and we re-enact the day I met the girls

"CUT"

The music stops and everyone stops

"Miss Asavela are you ok? You seem a little stiff"

He says and Vela nods she's fine

"I'm fine, just a little nervous"

She says nervously, I look at her hand and she's shaking

"You cute and all but if you don't do this right I won't hesitate to replace you. I need more than a pretty face for this role, I need sexual appeal. Have you never been with a guy before?"

He asks and she nods

"I have been with a guy before"

She says

"Then act like it. I need to see it in your body language. You need to look like you interested in him but don't want to give away too much"

He says and she nods

"Good. Lets take it from the top"

He says and everyone returns to their spots

"Look, pretend you playing pillow fight with your friend over there. Don't think of me as me ok and Andile is all bark and no bite. He just wants this video to be perfect and if you are perfect then it means more gigs ok? Don't mind him, focus on me"

I whisper to her and she nods

"Thank you"

She says and I nod. We take it from the top. Andile keeps yelling cut where Vela and I need to look and sell the intimacy. He yells CUT again and then he orders us to take a break, I look at my watch and the time is now 6am. I walk over to Andile and Asante

"And then?"

I ask him

"This is why I always prefer professionals. Where did you get this girl? She's all over the place Aaron. If you want me to do my job then I suggest you get someone who knows what they are doing"

He says and Asante gets up looking a bit uncomfortable

"Where are you going?"

I ask her

"To check on my friend"

She runs off without waiting for my response. I turn my attention to Andile

"Sit down and see for yourself."

I sit where Asante was sitting and he plays the clips they got

"See what I mean? She's a pretty face but this thing is not for her"

He says, I pinch my nose bridge

"Andile I'm paying you to make her look good"

I remind him and he chuckles

"Clearly you not paying me enough because she does look good but she's stiff. Aaron I need to know now if I need to call one of my own girls to do this or not. Decide"

He says and then he continues playing the video after watching the clips we got I excuse myself to check up on Vela and Asante. I knock in their dressing room and they call out

"Come in"

I walk in

"Is your friend ok?"

I ask and they turn to me startled to see me here. Usually I don't really care but for some weird reason I feel the need to check up on them

"Aaron?"

Asante says stunned and her friend breaks out of her embrace

"What are you doing here?"

Vela asks me

"I came to check on you"
