Your POV

I woke up hearing screaming from outside my room. I run out and see a man violently touching my mom. I couldn't just stand there. I searched the room for something. I saw a baseball bat and ran towards the man and hit his head. He fell to the ground.

"Never ever touch my mom like that you jerk, ya hear me, you respect her."I shout. I looked over to my mom who seemed surprised that I'd done such a thing. I was guessing Two-bit wasn't here because he hadn't come out to see what was going on.

"Y/n leave"I hear my mom say. I literally just saved her and she told me to leave?

"But-"

"I SAID LEAVE" she screamed. I storm out of the house and slam the door. I burst into tears and kept running. I didn't realize the direction I was going but I just kept on going. I just wanted to get away as fast as possible. I saw a bench and I sat down. The tears kept running down my cheeks. I couldn't stop crying.

"Y/n?"I hear someone say. I look up to see Lucas. I briskly wipe my tears.

"Oh hey, Lucas funny seeing you here"i say

"What's wrong?" he asks. I'm surprised he is even concerned.

"Nothing, It's just the cold wind makes my eyes watery"i say

"Oh really, does it make your eyes red too?"he asked sarcastically

"Mhm"i say

"And does it also make your nose sniffle like that?"he asks lightly poking my nose

"Morning sickness?"i say fakely smiling

"Come on Y/n, you can trust me, i won't judge" he says sincerely

"Promise?" i ask

"Promise"he say sticking out his pinky

"Okay well here it goes, some man tried to hurt my mom and I hit him with a bat and she screamed at me to get out. I saved her life and that's how she thanks me? It hurts to know my own mother chose a man she doesn't know anything about over her children who take care of her ass day and night. I just wish she would stop with her stupid excuses and be a mom for one day. At least for one damn day."i say. Lucas put his hand on my shoulder.

"One day she'll end up losing you and she'll regret letting someone like you go, I know how you feel "he says

"How come?" i say looking back at him

"You can't say a word to anyone, my aunt is the person who knows"he says

"I won't" i assure him

"Okay, I ran away from home. My dad doesn't care about me. He only cares about his business. Sometimes he forgets my own name. I think it's because he found out that I am different from other boys" he paused

"What do you mean different?" i asked

He took a deep breath and said "I like boys". I smiled and pulled him in for a hug.

"It's okay to like boys, you are perfect just the way you are, you don't need to change"I say. He smiled and hugged me back tightly.

"So you got your eye on anyone?" I asked. He blushed and I immediately knew.

"Ohooh, who is it?"i asked

"His name is Alex and we have world history together, we've talked a little bit and I guess this happened" he says. I knew who Alex was. Everyone knew he was gay but nobody really mentioned it, unless it was the socs messing with him. I talked to Alex here and there.

"How about you? Do you like anyone?"Lucas asked. My stomach fluttered with butterflies once I thought of Ponyboy.

"N-no, I don't"i say blushing

"You do have a crush, what's his name?" he asks

"I don't have a crush and i don't have time for such a silly thing"i say

"What are you scared of?" he asked

"I don't know if i like him, me and him have been best friends since we were little, I suddenly feel different around him, My stomach begins to flutter, I can't stop smiling when he's around, I suddenly find him very attractive, not that he wasn't before but I hadn't noticed before and when we spend time together is feel safe for me, You know what, I'm just giving myself illusions, forget everything i said, It was stupid "i say

"No, no, It's not stupid, you're in love"lucas said

"I-i am?"i asked. He nodded

"What's his name?"Lucas asked

"Ponyboy Curtis"i said

"Oh i think I've seen him around school, i heard that his parents died in an accident, is that true?"Lucas asked

"Sadly yes"i said

"Y/n, where have you been? I was looking for you everywhere, you have Two-bit worried"i heard Ponyboys voice

"Oh hey Ponyboy, sorry i forgot to call"i say

"Well, I'm going to leave you two to talk, I'll see you around Y/n"Lucas got up to leave

"Oh why don't you come with us, you can meet the gang"

"I would but i got to get going or my aunt is going to turn into a monster and we don't want that so I'll see you around Y/n" Lucas said. As he walked away he started to mouth tell him you like him.

"Yeah see you around, lucas and thank you""i say rolling my eyes

"No worries" Lucas says. I turn to Pony who seem a bit odd.
