Your POV
Once Sodapop left, I rushed to my room to get ready for school. Ponyboy didn't seem to be affected at all. He sure seemed happy. I'm here crying my eyes out while he's over there laughing with Cherry. Of course I'm not mad at Cherry, it's not her fault. I walked along the empty streets stepping on the crunchy leaves that had fallen down from the trees. As I walked up to the front of the school, I hesitated to go in, I heard the bell rang and everyone rushed inside. I spot Lucas who is talking to Alex and Ponyboy walking into the building with Cherry and Johnny. Johnny turns his head and we both make contact. I quickly look away and start to walk away from the school.
"Wait, Y/n, wait" Johnny shouted. I turned around and saw them walking towards me. Shit, Shit. Oh God please don't let anything go wrong.
Ponyboy's POV
"Wait, Y/n, wait" Johnny shouts running through the crowd. Me and Cherry turned around.
"Come on let's go say hi to Y/n" Cherry says pulling me into the crowd. I didn't expect Y/n coming after what happened. So i'll just play it cool.
"Oh hey" She waved. I could tell she was nervous because her voice was shaky. She didn't even look up to us when she talked.
"Aren't you gonna come inside?" Johnny asked
"Oh yeah, i just had to... i forgot my algebra notebook at home" Y/n says. She's lying. She is totally lying. She had algebra last semester.
"Uh Y/n, you had algebra last semester"Cherry says
"Did i say algebra? I meant history notebook''Y/n lies again
"Oh we can share, i wouldn't mind at all" Cherry offers
"Oh, are you sure? Because i can just go home and-"
"Yes I am sure, let's get to class before we are late,"Cherry said, pulling Y/n inside the school. Just when I was about to follow along behind them Johnny stopped me.
"What?"i ask
"Ponyboy there's something going on with you, you asked Cherry to the dance instead of Y/n like we had planned, you yell at Y/n and call her such things, what's going on?"
"I heard Lucas ask Y/n to the dance before i could, i guess i got jealous, she denied it and I got mad so i went off on her"I shrugged
"That's weird because Y/n told me tha-"The bell interrupted him
"Gotta get to class, we'll talk later"he said walking away. I wonder what Y/n told Johnny.
Your POV
I entered class and sat in the back. I couldn't look at Ponyboy, so i had to be as far as possible.
"Alright students, today you have a new group project and I will assign your partners" my teacher said. Everyone groaned. I hoped she'd pair me up with Jessica and Justin. They are both twins. We've known each other since middle school.
"Y/n, Cherry, and Ponyboy, you'll be group five"My teacher calls. Of course this has to happen. After class we all agreed to see each other at the library to start our project. I walk over to my locker to switch out my notebooks.
"Hey, Y/n, it's been some time since we talked" i heard Lucas say
"Oh hey, Lucas, sorry for-"
"Don't you worry about it, Johnny told me what happened"he said
"Oh, um have you asked Alex yet?"i asked changing the subject
"Yeah but he said he wasn't going to the dance because he was going to be out of town but he said when he comes back, we'll go on a date"he smiled. His face lit up. He looked so happy. I'm proud of him.
