Your POV

I woke up seeing Two-bit laying on a small armchair I had in a corner. I guess we had fallen asleep talking. I looked at the clock and it was late.

"Two-bit, Two-bit, wake up, it's late wake up"I said shaking him

"Hmh, What?"

"It's twelve pm, wake up,"I said. We looked at each other for a moment and we started to laugh for no reason.

"Ya know I've been thinking, it's been time since we left Tulsa, why don't we go on a road trip?"Two-bit suggested.

"Really? Wait Just us?"i asked

"Yeah just us"he assured me.

"Ok then, I'd like that,"I said. We started to pack some snacks and a few clothes just in case. I finally get to give myself a break. The only time I remember being out of Tulsa was when I was five and dad hadn't left yet and he took us out to see his favorite play called A Raisin In The Sun. I also had the book which I've read non-stop. I've had that book for as long as i can remember but sometimes i'd rather not remind myself how cowardly my dad was to leave his children when we mostly needed him. I pushed my thoughts aside and began to put the stuff in the car. Before we took off we stopped by the Dx to fill up the tank. We told Sodapop that we were going on a road trip. He kept warning us to not go to the mountains and that he had seen a documentary last night about bears. We weren't planning to go that far but might as well listen to Sodapop.

"Where are we going to go?"I asked

"I don't know, Let's just see where the road takes us"Two-bit said

"Okay"I smiled. He finished up filling up the car and hopped on. Two-bit drove for what felt about hours and hours when we came upon a neighborhood. All little kids were playing outside, some with very decent clothes and others with some dirt on their knees. Everyone was happy, they all seemed to get along just fine.

"Golly, looks like we entered wonderland"Two-bit said

"Wish things were like this back in Tulsa"i replied

"Yeah, i wonder if this all an act or this actually exist"he said

"Two-bit? Do you think the whole world is split up in groups, like greasers and socs?i asked

"Well, no but I think that someone can't always be happy. Somethin bad always has to happen to be happy"He replied. That whole time I spent thinking about what Two-bit said. I guess i never thought about that. We spotted a river with a small bridge over it. We decided to get some food before we'd stop by the river. I watched as the water flowed beautifully down the stream. The water was clear and it glowed.

"Sure is a pretty place"I said

"Yeah"He nodded, laying out a blanket and I put the food out. We bought some pizza. After we ate, we went out for a walk. Two-bit took some pictures of the bridge. It was a really really really pretty place who could blame him. As we walked along the empty cement stepping on the crunchy leaves that had fallen down from the trees the sun started to come down. I wish Ponyboy was here. He really digs sunsets.

Ponyboy's POV

As me and Johnny walked to school, we talked about the dance. The dance was tomorrow and I still didn't know what to wear. I'd have to ask Cherry after school. Johnny had just gotten a date. Her name was Sofia. She's a sweet caring person. I think they might even date after the dance.

"Hey, Ponyboy, hey Johnny, have you seen Y/n? I need to ask her something"Cherry said coming up behind us

"Uh no i haven't seen her" Johnny said

"Me either"i said

"Oh ok, if see her tell her to find me and that it's urgent"cherry said walking into the building

"Okay"Me and Johnny said and we walked into the school. Once class started I didn't see Y/n in the class, not any seat. Johnny asked Lucas if he had seen Y/n but he said he hadn't. Finally class was over.

"Ponyboy, could you do me a favor?"the teacher asked me

"Sure, what is it?"i said

"I know you're close with Y/n so could you drop off these papers to her house?" the teacher asked. Of course I had no other choice.

"Yeah sure"I said and I took the papers and went to look for Cherry. I can't do this alone, It'll be the most uncomfortable thing i have to do. I spotted Cherry and I ran up to her. Once I told her it took me sometime to convince her to come with me and I also asked Johnny to come. As we walked up to her house, I felt my heart start to race and palms start to get sweaty. I started to fidget with my hands.

"You okay?"Johnny whispered

"Yeah, I'm fine"I whispered back. I knocked on the door but no one answered. I waited a little to knock again. The second time I knocked I heard the door unlock. The door opened wide open and there was Y/n's and Two-bit's mom. I never really see their mom even though we're so close. She is usually always out working.

"What do you want?" she asked rudley

"Uh is Y/n home?"i asked

"No, she left with Keith hours ago"she replied. Left hours ago? Where could they have gone? They wouldn't just leave without saying anything.

"Do you know where they could be?"i asked

"No I don't"she said

"Oh, well could you give Y/n these papers? These are for school" i said, handing her the papers

"Ok"she said and closed the door. I took a breath of relief and we started to walk Cherry back to her house. Once we dropped her off Johnny decided to come home and sleep there. I guess Darry already cooked dinner since we could smell it from the gate. We rushed inside and everyone was at the table.

"Hey, save some for us,"Johnny said, running over to get plates. He handed me a plate and we began to get some food and eat.

"Where's Two-bit and Y/n, I haven't heard from them since yesterday?"Dally brought up

"They stopped by the Dx this morning, they were going on a road trip,"Sodapop said. Road trip? No wonder Y/n wasn't home.

"Where they going?"Steve asked

"I don't know but they aren't going to the mountains for sure, I warned them about the bears, like the ones we saw last night in that documentary Darry, Remember?"Sodapop said to Darry. Darry nodded

"Come on Soda, you probably scared them, bears aren't that bad"Dally said

"Yes they can be,"Sodapop said back and they continued their talk about bears all throughout dinner until we heard a knock on the door.

"I'll get it,"Darry said. He got up and we heard the door open.

"Oh hey come in, we're in the kitchen"I could hear Darry say. We looked at each other wondering who it was. It was already dark outside so we had no clue

"Hey, guys"I heard Two-bit's voice, I guess they came back. Yn wasn't with him. Two-bit had many bags around his arms.

"Uh Y/n couldn't come but she got you all these gifts"Two bit said and he gave out the gifts. He handed me a teal bag. Everyone watched as I opened it. I didn't think Y/n would get me anything after what I've done to her. I took out the object and It was a book, Gone with the wind.

"Gone with wind. How'd she know I always wanted this book?"i asked so surprised

"She remembered you sayin something about it and you, her, and Johnny went to go see that movie"Two-bit said. I'm surprised she even remembered.

"Oh yeah, i remember"Johnny said

"Talkin about Y/n, where is she?"Sodapop asked

"She's home, we went to a store called Candy Land and she ate so many candies that her stomach hurts now, I warned her not to eat so many but we all know how she is with candy"Two-bit said.

"Like she always says, you never know when your last meal is"Everyone said simultaneously. Y/n would always say that when she gets a lot of candy or food. Especially with chocolate just like how Steve loves chocolate cake.
