"Courtney! Long time no see!" Anton was the first one to break the ice.
I gave him a small smile as I nodded. Pinasadahan ko sila ng tingin.
They bulked up, alright. Pero hindi naman maabot sa puntong nakakadiri nang tignan.
"Court!" bati ni Khael at tumingin kay Alex.
"Nice seeing you, Courtney! Kumusta?" Alex showcased his perfect white pearls.
I should be the one asking him that. After a year, I still feel guilty. I'm not sure if he already forgave me, or he's holding a grudge against me.
"Nice to see you too. I'm fine," tipid kong sagot.
Though I wanted to ask them how they're doing, it's best to not do it. Matatagalan lang kami rito, at ang mga tao sa paligid namin ay nagbubulungan na. Baka ma-chismis na naman ako. I don't want that much attention.
Ngumiti naman si Alex at tumango-tango. I looked down while they all looked at Cole who's just crossing his arms while staring at me intently.
"Huy!" I heard Anton said.
"Oh, Miss..." Tinanguan lang ako ni Cole.
Napaawang ang bibig ko sa sinabi niya. That's it? He didn't even flinch. He said that with a straight face.
But before I could react, Mommy held my shoulders so I looked at her.
"It was nice seeing you boys, but we should go now," Mommy politely said.
Ngumiti naman sila at nagpaalam na.
I sighed when I entered our house.
"'Di mo expect 'no? 'Yan kasi, pabebe ka Sis!" Kuya Chris teased when entered our home.
Sinamaan ko lang siya ng tingin. I'm not in the mood for his jokes and I hope he gets that. Nilampasan ko lang siya at naglakad na papunta sa kwarto ko.
"Ginalit mo..." I heard Kuya Chrome said.
Pagkapasok ko pa lang sa kwarto ay bigla akong nanghina at nanginig.
I expected him to be like that... but I didn't know it was this painful to see him not caring about me.
Natawa ako sa sarili ko habang sumisinghot. I felt a slight pang on my chest as I breathed hard.
"You're crazy. Ikaw ang nanakit, ngayon ikaw ang nasaktan? What do you expect? That there was hope for you two? Wake up, Courtney!" I slightly slapped my face, thinking it would open my eyes to reality.
Ginusto mo 'yan, edi panindigan mo.
After convincing myself that it's all alright, I changed my clothes and immediately went to bed.
"Umagang-umaga, nakabusangot ka agad!" Bungad sa akin ni Roxie. Sinundan ko lang siya ng tingin habang umupo siya sa tabi ko.
Inayos niya ang bag niya habang nakatingin pa rin sa akin.
I made faces and rolled my eyes. "What's busangot?"
Lumipad ang palad ni Roxie sa bibig niya at nanlaki ang mga mata. "Really? Hindi mo 'yan alam?!" she hysterically asked.
It's the first day of school. I'm not really excited. I don't want to see new faces, that are still out of my comfort zone.
"Hoy! Kinakausap kita! May bruhang tumitingin sa 'yo!" Roxie snapped her fingers as she pointed in another direction. Sinundan ko kung saan nakaturo ang hintuturo niya at biglang nanlisik ang mga mata ko.
