The flight was smooth with no interference. Apart from the fact that you were God knows how high up and you were scared out of your wits.

Charles tried to help you calm down by holding your hand but it ended with him nursing his limp hand.

He gave a weak chuckle when you mouthed him an apology. "It's alright. It wasn't my favorite hand anyway." But throughout the flight he kept holding it tenderly.

Raven tried to keep a cheery atmosphere but was unsuccessful. Instead it was sombre and depressed. Not to mention, the place reeked with fear.

After what seemed like an eternity, Moira turned around saying, "We're here."

You craned your neck to see outside and quickly squished back into your seat shutting your eyes.

"Looks pretty messy out there." you heard Hank say.

You peeped open an eye to see Charles with his fingers touching his temple.

"The crew of the Aral Sea are all dead. Shaw's been there."

You turned and made eye-contact with Erik.

"He's still here. Somewhere." he said turning to Charles.

"He wouldn't have gone far." you added.

Charles looked out again. "He's set the course of the ship for the embargo line.

Moira looked at him. "If that ship crosses the line, our boys are going to blow it up. And the war begins." Though her voice was quiet calm it had a note of panic in it.

"Unless they're not out boys." you heard Charles say as you shut your eyes again and zoned out.

What felt like hours turned out to be minutes when you opened your eyes to see Sean ready to jump out of the plane. You quickly unbuckled yourself and headed over, standing next to Erik while on the other side Charles and Sean stood near the edge.

"Remember! This is a muscle!" Charles shouted over the roar of the engine, gesturing to Sean's throat. He then pointed at his own head. "You'll be in here the entire time!"

"What did I miss out!" you managed to shout, earning a peeved look from Sean, an 'are you kidding me?!' glare from Charles and a choked laugh from Erik.

"On my mark!" Charles shouted. "Three, Two, One, Go!" and then he gave Sean a shove. Sean let out a scream before plunging into the water.

"Banshee has a location on Shaw." you sniggered at Charles's use of the agent name. "Are you ready for this?" he asked Erik.

Erik looked at him slightly uneasily before looking at you and then back at Charles. "Let's find out."

Slowly but steadily, Erik lowered himself onto the wheel.

You clung to the railing inside as you watched Erik stretch his hand out. You caught a glimpse of Charles and his face was full of hurt. He took a quick glance at you before turning back to Erik.

Majestically, the submarine rose out of the sea, water streaming off of it.

Your smile quickly faded when the hatch of the submarine opened. Riptide (you had heard that was his name) appeared and quickly the wind became stronger and before you could say 'Shit!', a full blown tornado was headed your way.

"Erik! Take my hand!" Charles shouted, stretching his hand out. Stubbornly, Erik ignored it. The plane began to spin out of control. "Erik!" Charles shouted again.

You clung on to the railing for dear life. A chill ran down your spine as you watched Erik's hand slowly lose its grasp.

"Erik!" you screamed. "Take his hand!" Your voice brought him back to his senses and he turned and reached for Charles's hand.

Just as their fingertips touched the plane jolted. You watched in horror as Erik's hand slipped from Charles's and he fell, to be devoured by the deep abyss.

You couldn't scream. "Erik." was all you could whisper.

"No!" Charles shouted. "Prism, get back to your seat and buckle up!"

You shook your head and instead focused on someone else. His rare smile, his steel gray eyes, his soft yet commanding voice, and the smell that always lingered about him. Peppermint candy.

You let go of the rail.

"Kate! What are you doing! Are you out of yo-" you didn't hear the end of the sentence as you teleported into midair.

Quickly your body collided into Erik's. Behind him you could see the deep blue just a few metres away. You grabbed onto his shoulder before teleporting back to the plane.

Instantly you were flung against the metal of the inside of the plane. Everyone was in their seats clinging onto the armrests. The place spun out of control and you, Charles and Erik went flying through the air.

Pain spread through you. Everything seemed to show down and everything went blurry. You could hear Charles calling your name. You tried to say his name back but you a sharp pain at your head.

And everything went black.
