Fine, um, so, as I already said in the description, this book is mainly based on the movies. With a hint of a book here and there...not a lot tho. Also, I wanted to do a Maze Runner fanfic for a long time now but never had a good enough idea you know. Last week I rewatched the whole trilogy with my best friend and all the comments and fun we had just resulted in me coming up with this. This thing is mainly dedicated to her because she really supports me in everything and I love her for it. She knows which character is representing her so I just hope she will like the way I wrote this and I hope all of you will too😅 alright, enough ranting, let's get to reading...

People tend to wake up in all sorts of different places. Some wake up on the ground with a horrible headache after a wasted night...not pleasant. Or they wake up in a well-known place, like in their bed at home. They can wake up alone or with a company. It's really up to them. But the state in which this one girl woke up was nothing near pleasant.

The brunette with short hair jolted awake when her surrounding seemed to move upwards rather quickly. She went to stand up only to stumble to the side hitting herself against the hard metal wall. Using that as the support she leaned against it more and stood on her long shaky legs.

All around her everything was dark. But she could make out the shapes of what looked like some boxes. Some weird noises were coming from the other side of the metal cage that she found herself in. That wouldn't faze her much but the fact that she didn't remember a single thing about herself or anyone that was in her life was slightly triggering some anxiety. She couldn't remember anything.

The breath caught in her throat as it started to close on her, causing her hand to fly towards her neck. There she caught on a thin, silver chain that was around her neck. She followed the thin necklace chain until she caught on the snowflake pendant with dark blue gems in it. Winter...The name came to her like a wave. Crashing into her mind with a sudden realization of who actually she might be. But the name never defined anyone. The sight of the necklace around her neck brought her one more memory. But it wasn't as clear as the one of her name. She felt like something was missing.

"Ah!" A scream coming from the other side of the cage sparkled her attention

"Ah!" A scream coming from the other side of the cage sparkled her attention. It was followed by the sound of some animal and before she could even comprehend what was happening a blur of blond and green ran right at her knocking her down.

"Oh my god," She groaned from underneath the person that just now knocked her down. As if it wasn't hard enough to maintain her stance with the cage moving at lightning speed. Which brings out the question of how did the person manage to run in this environment.

"Shit, I'm so sorry I didn't mean to knock you down. It's just there was a literal monster there right next to me when I woke up and it startled me and..." Winter put a hand over the girl's mouth to shut her up somehow. Man, this girl rambled a lot. But she did have a kind of mesmerizing pair of light green eyes. And there was something far too familiar about her. The girl seemed to be staring at her as well which caused her to growl.
