Winter...

"Alby you need to reconsider this." I was trying to catch up with Summer who was attempting to persuade Alby about something that we all knew he needed to do. It is for the best and there is no turning back. But Summer is persistent. And how the shuck is she so fast with that ankle?

"No Summer." Alby was emotionless. It was hard for him as much as it was for her. But saying yet again, it needs to be done.

"Oh but come on, you can't do that. You know it wasn't his fault!" Summer argued. You could already see the tears in her eyes. Today at the meeting it was voted that Ben should be banished. For two things...attacking another Glader and because he was stung therefore he is unpredictable. We can't do anything for him now.

Summer was strongly against the idea. But was over voted. Even Minho voted for banishing Ben. I know it is hard for them because they spent with each other so much time in the maze but it just needs to be done.

"I know, we all know, and we are truly sorry about it but there is just nothing we can do. You and I both know that life here was never easy and that sacrifices need to be made every day." Alby's voice was stern and determined. Like a true leader. But the tough exterior fell when he looked at my sister. His eyes softened and he sighed walking back towards her. He put his hands on her shoulders and looked down at her. "I am sorry Summer. There just...isn't any other way." Alby said sadly and then left. Summer stayed in the spot her head falling down and she started shaking with silent sobs.

I walked over to her and put a hand on her back. Just now I noticed the tears running down her cheeks. She looked so heartbroken and defeated.

"Hey, you want me to help you to Homestead? Or to the kitchen? You must be hungry." I offered already about to move her towards the direction of Fry's kitchen. But I was stopped abruptly when Summer threw my arm off of her.

"I am not hungry." She mumbled and started limping towards the Deadheads. Well, that's some attitude missy. I was about to follow after her, to try and talk it out but a hand was placed on my shoulder, stopping me.

"Leave her alone for a while. She needs to clear her thoughts a bit." I turned around to come face to face with Minho. He too looked quite broken from earlier. I gave one last look behind my shoulder to see Summer disappear behind the trees and I sighed.

"I guess this should be a reminder that we shouldn't be getting too comfortable here," I mumbled turning my head to face Minho again. He cocked an eyebrow, forming a surprised face.

"You are comfortable here? I am counting the days till we somehow get out." Minho admitted solemnly a grim expression appearing on his face.

"I think we all are," I agreed quietly. Minho's found it's way around me pulling me closer in a hug. "You know I don't do hugs, Min," I mumbled against the fabric of his shirt.

"Yeah...but just this once. Please," He said quietly his head propped on my shoulder. Okay, I gave in. This one time. Just because I know how hard it is for him.

"Would you like to go to the kitchen with me?" I asked pulling away from the hug. I am quite hungry that's why I am offering this to everyone. Minho nodded with a small smile and we made our way towards the tables. Ma best cook pal is sure waiting there with something yummy.

Summer...

"You know you don't have to do this...right?" Minho asked glancing at me. We were walking towards the pit to pull Ben out and bring him to the walls. The burning feeling setting inside my heart was telling me that it wasn't right. But my head was given orders that I needed to fulfill for the safety of others.
