Will, Lucas, Max, and Mike made their way to Scoops Ahoy in Starcourt Mall. Mike rang the bell many times. The blonde girl in funny sailor uniform called out, "Hey, dingus, your children are here." The back windows opened, Steve appeared. "Again? Seriously?" The boy rang it again.
Steve led the group to the back door. "Come on. Come on." He hurried. The kids walked down the long hallway. "I swear, if anybody hears about this--"
"We're dead!"
The young man sighed, going back to work.
The kids snuck into the theatre. As the movie was just starting, the power went out. The crowd clamored. "Come on!"
All over the mall. "The hell?" Erica chimed.
"That's weird." Steve said. He went over to the light switch. Flicking it. "That isn't gonna work, dingus." Robin told him.
"Oh, really?" He flicked faster.Power was going out all over town. Rats ran from a strange shadow that emerged out of the blue.
The power was back.
Steve flicked the switch again. The light turned on. "Let there be light."
Will touched the back of his neck. Feeling odd. Remembering the shadow monster and the car flipping. The exorcism.
"Hey." Mike called for his friend. Will gasped. "You okay?"
"Yeah." Will replied.
"Are you sure?" The boy nodded, "Of course." The boys brought their attention to the large screen.-
Nancy shot up. "Shit." She looked at her watch. "Shit, shit, shit, shit!" Jonathan woke up. "What's wrong?" He asked.
"It's almost 9."
"What?"
"We didn't reset the clocks. The power went out last night, remember?"
"Oh, shit!" Jon stumbled out of bed in his underwear and hurriedly dressed. He fell putting his pants on. Nancy came out the window and ran around the house."Hey! Hey! Hey! Wait up." Joyce said to her oldest.
"Oh, no, I'll eat at work." Jon replied. "I'm late." The woman reached out to his face. "Your cheek."
"I gotta run. See you later."
"All right."Joyce made her way to the table where Will and Rae sat at. "Ugh. Gross." Will chimed, earning a hum from Rene who had a mouthful of pancakes. The girl looked much older than her age now so did her brother. "Well, I don't think you're gonna think it's gross when you fall in love." Joyce directed to him.
"I'm not gonna fall in love." Will replied as he opened the syrup cap. "Okay." Joyce's attention went to the fallen magnets from the fridge. "Hey. What happened here?" The drawing of Bob made her smile.
Will and Rae were having a conversation.
"So, how's Teresa?" The boy started. Rae shook her head as she ate. "She's okay. Just doing business in Miami. She'll be back by Christmas." She gave a smile, he returned it. They continued with breakfast.
Dustin and his mom were driving into town. No one answered him when he repeated that he was back.
The boy set his bag down. Sighing. His tortoise watched him in wonder. "At least someone's happy I'm home." The moving of his toys caught him off guard. He went to get his Farrah Fawcett spray, following the moving robots and tanks. "It's just a dream." The boy muttered. The toys stopped. Dustin inspected them. A group, very much his friends, crept up on him. Then, party whistles blew.
The boy screamed, spraying Lucas in the face.
