"Please, you're hurting me," I pleaded as he held tightly onto my fragile wrist. His fingers felt like daggers piercing my skin and the look in his eyes terrified me. "We can talk about it, and it will be okay." I said calmly trying to regain any possible peace between us. "Let go and we'll talk about it." His eyes were dark and cloudy - I remembered them like that nearly every time he was with me in the past. When his eyes looked like that I knew he was going to do something to enflict pain upon me.

He let go of my wrist and I could see that it was already beginning to bruise. I held it close to my chest that was rising and falling frantically as my heart beat raced rapidly. When he opened his mouth to say something he was cut off by the sound of my phone vibrating against the wooden baseboard. The fire in his eyes ignited as he violently picked up my phone and chucked it at the wall almost hitting my head. "How could you lie at me?" He screamed inching towards my face again. My entire body was trembling. Terrified was an understatement when it came to how I felt.

"I'm sorry!" I cried out in a petrified and shaky voice. He grabbed my shoulders and pushed me to the ground in one swift motion causing a stinging sensation to course throughout my body. He started to pick up picture frames, and he threw them up against walls sending glass shards flying all over the room, and broken wood pieces crashing to the carpet. He was picking up anything and everything he could find that would break. Some of the things he even through in my direction, but purposely didn't hit me. His goal was to make absolutely terrified of him, and at that point it was working. "Please, stop and we'll talk about it. Please," I cried.

"What do you want to talk about, huh?" He yelled throwing another frame. "How you want to move away as far as you can, and take my daughter from me? How you want to let her grow up believing that he is her father? Get the hell up!" He shouted causing a few tears to spill from my eyes. With shaking legs I rose up from the floor and stood limply while he shouted, and yelled at me. "Did you think I wouldn't catch on when Sam magically arrived and took you away? He's not her father. I am!"

"What kind of father are you?" I screamed out of reaction. My nerves were rocking on the edge and he was pushing me further and further. "You never cared about her! You were never there. When you left me you left her. You don't care about her, you just don't want to see me happy. You have never wanted to see me happy, that's why you always made me think of less of myself. Then Sam came in and changed everything. He cares for her, and he cares about me. You never cared, and you never will."

The flames grew brighter and more intense in his eyes. "Don't ever tell me how I feel!" He screamed causing me to flinch. "You don't deserve to have her in your life, and the second you take her away from me is the second you'll wish you would have just stayed. What's the great and almighty Sam going to say when he's the reason that your daughter hates you when she's older? You two are taking her away from her real father, how is that going to settle? How does it feel to know you're doing exactly what you're mom did?" He said dangerously low.

"She won't hate me, she'll thank me. She'll thank me because she won't have to grow up around a psychopathic abuser. What child would want to grow up with a father like that? You don't deserve to have the right to call her your daughter. Sam will make one hell of a father compared to you," I spat. A harsh sting caressed my cheek and I cried out in pain.

"This is last year on repeat," he said taking another strike. The pain was severe as his hands lit up my face. I screamed as he yanked me by my hair as I tried to escape his grasp.

"Police! Open up!" A deep voice boomed from outside of the apartment. The door came crashing in and he was pulled off of me. "Miss are you okay?" The large police officer asked me. He helped me up onto my own two feet and I saw that two other officers had Alex in their custody, and while one was handcuffing him, the other was reading him his Miranda rights. "Ma'am?"

"I'm okay," I breathed out.

"This is bullshit!" Alex yelled out. "You dumb bitch, just wait until you fully get what you deserve."

"That's enough," one of the officers yelled as they led him out of the door. My mom rushed in with Raina in her arms, and she had tears in her eyes. I grabbed her immediately and held her close to me and she was faintly crying.

"Shh, I've got you," I cooed. "I have you, and nothing's going to hurt you," I whispered in her ear. My body was overwhelmed with pain, but I paid no mind. My mother gave me a sad smile and pulled me into a hug, and soon it was not only Raina whimpering, but the two of us as well.

"Hi, you must be Sam," I heard my mom's voice say. I fluttered my eyes open confused.

"Yeah, nice to meet you," I heard Sam's unmistakable voice and my eyes grew wide. He couldn't see me like this, why was he here? I looked around for the time but couldn't make out anything in the darkness. Raina was quietly sleeping in my arms since we were spending the night in my mother's spare bedroom.

"Baylor," my mom said touching my shoulder lightly causing me to jump. "Someone's here to see you," she said. Carefully I secured a place on the bed for Raina so she wouldn't roll off and hurt herself. My mother walked into the kitchen and when I walked into the front room I saw Sam. He had a worried expression written all over his face.

"Baby," he said pulling me into a tight embrace. "I was so worried about you," he said kissing a tender spot on my forehead. "Are you okay?"

"I'm okay," I said softly. The cool air in the kitchen stung against my wounds causing me to grit my teeth slightly trying to avoid the pain. "I'm sorry you have to see me like this," I tried to cover my face but he stopped me. I frowned and he made me look at him directly into his beautiful irises. "I'm so scared," I said hugging him again. I rested my head in his chest. I was so glad he was there, because he was the only one who could make me feel safe. "You shouldn't be here though, you'll miss the tour, and let down fans," I pushed myself away from him and wiped away a couple tears.

"Don't be ridiculous," he shook his head. "As soon as you mom called me I explained to Nate that it was an emergency. Right now my last priority is the tour, alright?" He grabbed both of my hands and I nodded. I hated to see him worry about me - I hated to see anyone worry about me. "Maybe you should come home with me earlier than planned," he whispered. I knew it sounded like a wonderful idea - leave early and be with him, but I still had other responsibilites before I packed up my bags and ran away. I shook my head and he sighed. "Baby, come on."

"No, I can't," I shook my head. "Not yet anyway. I still have so much left to do. I can't just pack up my bags and run away from my problems. I have a daughter to support. We can't go on tour with you, and I can't stay with your family for weeks. I have to stay here right now," I said causing him to put his head down. "I'm sorry."

"We'll work it out," he said looking back up at me. "Let's just not concentrate on that right now, are you sure you're alright? I can take you to the hospital to get checked out if I need to." I smiled and shook my head causing him to chuckle. "I worry about you, you know."

"I know," I grinned. "But you don't need to," I kissed his cheek.

"I'll always worry about my two girls," he whispered against my skin. I smiled to myself and he slipped his arms around my waist. "I'm just happy you're okay."

"I'm happy you're here," I sighed and he rubbed my back softly. His cologne was strong on his skin, and it gave me a sense of security and safety. "Are you tired?" I looked at the clock and saw that it was going on one in the morning.

"Yeah. Where's baby girl?" He asked referring to Raina.

"She's back in the guest room asleep, She should be waking up to feed soon though. I'm sure she would love to see you."

"So is everything okay?" My mom asked peeking into the living room. I laughed softly and nodded. "That's good, well you two should be getting to bed because the medicine kicked in, and that little one is going to be as rotten as ever in the morning."

"Goodnight, mom," I smiled. Sam and I began to walk down the hallway. I let him go on without me and turn around. "Oh and mom?"

"Yeah, sweetie?" She asked looking at me wondering if there was something wrong.

"Thank you," I hugged her and kissed her cheek. She smiled and I walked down the hallway where I saw Sam standing by the door with a happy grin on his face.
