"Hello?" Terrell answers his phone. I put my fork down on my plate. French toast, eggs and bacon fill both our plates.

"I wish man," Terrell chuckles. He takes a sip of his orange juice.

"Fine, I'll think about it. But no promises," Terrell says into the phone.

"Okay, okay bye," he hangs up and sets his phone down before taking a giant bite of his food.

"Who was that?" I ask.

"Just my buddy Jaxin," He talks with his mouth full.

"You know, you haven't seen any of your friends since I've been here," I point out. Fine, I'll think about it. His words play in my head.

"What are you supposed to think about?" I ask.

"I guess there's a party or something tonight," he says.

"You should go," I say. He puts his fork down.

"Are you trying to get rid of me?" He jokes.

"Yes," I laugh.

"No seriously though. You've been babysitting me for what- almost four weeks now," I say.

"Go to the party," I add.

"I'll think about it," he says. He brings his orange juice to his lips and his adam's apple moves up and down as he chugs.

"I'll go with," I say shyly. I haven't been out of the house since the day I ran here from my dorm room thinking Terrell had been hurt.

"Caroline you don't have to," he says.

"Seriously. It might be fun. I'd like to get out," I say.

"Okay, we will make an appearance then," he nods. I smile. This is either going to be really fun or a complete disaster. I have high hopes though. What possibly could go wrong?

We approach the party and he sees my nervousness.

"It's okay. Let's just have some fun," Terrell laughs. I agree. We need to have some fun. We walk into the house and music is blasting. We walk into the kitchen and he pours me a drink and places it in my hand before pouring himself a drink.

"You made it!" Jaxin hollers over the music.

"And you brought Miss Caroline, I've heard so much about you," he holds his hand out and I shake it.

"All good things I hope," I laugh and he does too. Terrell and Jaxin carry on with the conversation as I sip my drink. I look up and make eye contact with the last person I'd ever want to see again. Daniel.

He's watching me intently. I set my drink down and my breathing speeds. I reach out and my fingers grasp for Terrell's hand. He turns to me as I grab his hand and his smile fades. I haven't yet moved my eyes off of Daniel. Terrell looks to see what I'm looking at and when he does he sets his drink down. He moves his body in front of me and blocks my view snapping me out of it. My eyes are watery because I forgot to blink for the past minute. I begin to blink rapidly and look at Terrell. He has a concerned look on his face. He cups my cheeks in his hands.

"Focus on me," he says. I look at him again. My hearts racing.

"You're safe. I'm with you. It's okay. Just stay here okay? I'll be right back, don't move," he says. I nod. He lets go of me and begins to walk away.

"Wait," I blurt and grab his hand. He turns to me.

"I don't want a scene. I'll just leave. Please don't go over there," I say.
