"You're Daniel's brother?" Terrell asks. Derek taps the gun on my head.

"You're a quick one," Derek laughs.

"Derek just let her go and we can talk about this," Terrell says.

"He wasn't supposed to die," Derek says sternly.

"You've always wanted to run the mafia. It's yours, just let her go," Terrell pleas with him.

"I don't think I'm gonna do that. I think I'm gonna take both. If anyone points a gun at me, I will blow her fucking brains out!" Derek shouts the ending in my ear making my eyes water slightly. Terrell holds up his hands towards the snipers and I glance up towards the roof of the buildings. They lower their guns.

"If you pull that trigger, you will die Derek. You can't have both. Take the mafia peacefully or kill her and die. Those are your choices," Terrell says cautiously. I stare into Terrell's eyes, fear rushes through me. He won't make eye contact with me. I know this isn't going to end well and I just want to see his eyes again. A tear slips down my cheek.

"Terrell..." I whisper as the barrel of the gun presses harder on my temple.

"I know, baby. Hold still," Terrell says but still holds eye contact with Derek.

"Derek think about this," Terrell says. I see him slowly reach behind his back.

"Don't fucking move!" Derek screams and Terrell puts his hands up quickly.

"Okay, okay," Terrell says. His chest moves quickly with his breath. He doesn't know what to do. I don't know what to do.

"I'm gonna take her inside, and all of you are going to leave," Derek demands.

"Then you won't get the mafia. That's what you really want," Terrell speaks.

"Take her, but the mafia is mine," Terrell says. I narrow my eyes at him. What is he doing?

"Do you hear that, Caroline? He doesn't even give a fuck about you!" Derek spits as he yells. I squeeze my eyes closed before opening them. Terrell still won't make eye contact with me.

"Why do you want me dead?" I ask with a shaky voice.

"Because Terrell wants you alive," he responds. He looks around to make sure the guns are away.

"No I don't. I used her. I got what I wanted," Terrell speaks. Why won't be make eye contact with me?

"You were practically begging me not to kill her. You're lying!" Derek says angrily.

"I never wanted her to hear this Derek. But I don't want you killing her because I want to do it," Terrell says confidently, a little too confidently.

"Then say it to her face. Tell her how you really feel and I'll let her go," Derek says. Terrell clenches his jaw before he walks closer to me. He stays a solid 3 feet back. He finally looks into my eyes but they are dark. He's either a really good actor or I'm a goner.

"I never loved you Caroline. I just wanted you in my bed. You're pathetic and worthless. I regret even waisting my time on you. You're nothing without me," Terrell snarls. His eyes are dark and filled with anger. My heart sinks as his words leave his lips. He's using the same words that Daniel had drilled into my head. He's saying them on purpose, he knows what those words mean to me. Even though I've heard them a dozen times from Daniel, the pain is so much worse when they come from Terrell.

His eyes burn into mine as tears fill my eyes. Derek throws my body down on the ground. I lay in the dirt and cough before sitting up.

"Kill her," Derek says. I look up at Derek and he still has his gun pointed at my head. My eyes fall on Terrell. His face hasn't changed. It's like his emotions are gone. I've never seen him like this and it's scaring me. This wasn't the plan.

"Kill her!" Derek screams before he kicks my side. I groan and clench my stomach. This is all too familiar. I look up at Terrell through a wall of tears. He walks a few steps closer and pulls out his gun. Derek's gun is still pointed at me. Terrell reaches down and grabs a fist full of my hair forcing me to look at him. I whimper as his grip on my hair is too tight.

"Terrell," I mumble. He presses the barrel of his gun to the side of my head. I search his eyes for any sign of acting. I can't find anything. He lets go of my hair, pushing me back on the ground. His gun pointed directly at my face. I can see straight through the barrel. Derek laughs as he's eager to see this.

"I'll make it quick," Terrell says as he cocks his gun.

"Wait no. Shoot her somewhere else, I don't want it quick," Derek says. Terrell considers for a moment before lowering the gun slightly and pulling the trigger. A sharp pain stabs at my chest. I gasp as all the air escapes my lungs and can't find its way back in. Pain runs down my body as more gun shots explode through the air. I can't seem to find my breathe. I'm suffocating. My vision gets blurry as I know I'm losing consciousness. I don't have words to describe the feeling of knowing this is the end, and still loving the person who pulled the trigger.
