"Do I have to stay there?" Maria asks as Terrell and I try to explain to her what's going on.

"Yes, it's just a safety measure," Terrell says.

"How long?" She asks.

"Just for tonight. Once we get the... situation handled, then we'll come home," I say. She agrees with a sigh.

"Go pack a bag," Terrell says. She stands up and walks to her room.

"I feel better knowing she'll be downtown," I say.

"Me too," Terrell states.

We drive downtown and once we arrive, Maria gets comfortable upstairs. She said she remembers this place vaguely. Handsy sets guns out on the table. He begins checking them and loading them.

"Are you ready?" Terrell asks me. I nod my head.

"Is it weird that I miss this part of the mafia?" I ask.

"No, I missed it more than I should have," he admits.

"Everyone won't be back in time. I'll stay behind and protect Maria. You two go," Handsy speaks. I zip up my jacket.

"Let's go," I say. We load up into the car and Terrell drives.

"Take the next left," I say as I watch the phone for instructions. I sit nervously as the location gets closer and closer.

After 15 minutes of driving, Terrell pulls up to the side of the curb. He parks the car. It looks like a vacant house.

"What now?" I ask.

"I'm gonna go look inside," Terrell says.

"Okay let's go," I say as I take my seat belt off.

"No, you stay here," Terrell says.

"Yeah cause that's smart," I say sarcastically.

"Caroline, this isn't up for discussion. If you hear a struggle, then come in. I want them to believe there's only one of us," he says. I nod.

"I love you," I say. He leans in and kisses me.

"I love you," he says. He gets out of the car and shuts the door. He walks into the house I sit quietly waiting. My phone begins to ring, making me jump. I sigh and answer the unknown caller.

"Hello?" I say.

"Hello Caroline?" A female voice says on the other end.

"Who is this?" I question.

"I knew you and Terrell would get involved. I knew you both would go the house alone," she says.

"What's your plan?" I question.

"Terrell's men didn't make it back in time? What a shame," she laughs.

"What did you do?" I say sternly.

"I killed them," she stops laughing and says seriously. I grab the handle to go get Terrell.

"Don't move," she says quickly.

"You can see me," I state. I look around but I can't find anything.

"You have 10 minutes before Maria dies. I suggest you hurry," she says.

"What?" I gasp.

"No time to get Terrell. Step on it!" She yells. I hang up and crawl into the drivers seat. I turn the car on and peel down the road to get to Maria. I panic and begin calling Terrell.

"Whats going on?" Terrell answers.

"Oh thank god! Listen! She called me! She's gonna hurt Maria I had to leave. Please trust me!" I say.

"Okay breathe Caroline. Focus on the road. Okay. You can do this," he says calmly.

"I-" Terrell begins to speak before I hear a thud.

"Terrell?" I ask.

"Terrell!" The phone goes dead and the unknown caller calls again. I hit the green button.

"What!" I shout.

"Let's play a game," she says.

"Fuck you!" I yell.

"Maria or Terrell?" She questions.

"What?" My heart stops.

"Which one is going to live today?" She questions.

"Who are you! What the fuck do you want!" I yell into the phone.

"I want you to answer my fucking questions!" She shouts back.

"You can't get to Maria," I say.

"I knew that you would keep her at the mafia for safety. I also knew Terrell would want to go inside alone. He's such a man," she laughs.

"You know Terrell? So what you're a friend?" I question.

"Maybe," she says.

"I won't choose," I say.

"Then I'm killing both," she says plainly.

"Stop! Please! I'll do anything," I say.

"It's too late Caroline. There's a bomb on the roof of the warehouse downtown and there's a bomb in the house your hubby is in. It's up to you which button I push," she says calmly.

"You bitch! Don't be a fucking coward!" I yell.

"Fine! Then you have 8 minutes. You can only save one. Are you going to go back for Terrell? Or are you going to continue driving to save your daughter?" She questions. I cry out in agony. I scream until my throat burns. My husband or my daughter? The choice is easy.
