Light Me Up

Chapter 15: The Huntress

"Where is Bonnie?" I ask Damon as he walks over to me with his refilled glass

"Donovan took her out with some sedatives and now she's sleeping it off in the back of his truck bound for no where" He explains

I down my drink and walked past him

"Right. Now we need to get a move on" I tell him "Take it from somebody who captured and lost Rayna Cruz. Twice. Bonnie will come for us no matter what we do"

"I'm gonna give a quick call. Just check in" He says pulling out his phone

I nod watching him

"It's ringing" He says after a moment "Still ringing"

I sigh annoyed. We had to go before Bonnie found a way. I turned my head when I heard something outside. It sounded like a phone.

"That's not good" Damon comments, talking about the phone

"Uh neither is the fact that I can hear his phone in the driveway" I reply

We both turn around suddenly as a large crash comes in through the window, and I see her. Damon rushes to grab a chair, using it as a shield as Bonnie gets up off the floor and points her gun up shooting at him. I knock the table over hiding behind it as she shoots at me. Instinctively I pick up the stake and throw it back, not even realizing what I was doing until i'd already done it. It hit her leg and she groaned in pain bending down to the floor.

"Oof. You two are gonna argue about that later" Damon comments

I ignore him walking towards her to help her. She looks up at me in confusion.

"What the hell are you doing?" She yells

"You're hurt" I say

"Good. It'll give you time to run" She gestures me to go with her head

I look around unsure what to do. I couldn't leave her

"I can't stop myself" She says, seeing the visible conflict on my face

I shake my head at her

"I said run!" She yells

Before I could do anything else Damon grabs me and vamp speeds us away.

"Why the hell did you do that?" I exclaim when we stop

"Thank you for saving my life Damon" He says mockingly

"She was hurt" I reply

"Look she's not your innocent, fragile, human girlfriend anymore ok?" He retorts "She's a huntress and she's trying to kill us. If we want to fix that then we have to stay alive. And alive means away from her"

I slowly nod realizing he was right

"Ok. What's the plan?"

"Let me guess. It's an ancient tentacled evil that will destroy our lives and the world as we know it" Damon said over the phone

I was walking out of the mental health center where Virginia was. I had just found out what the monster in the armory was.

"Don't be ridiculous" I tell him "No tentacles"

"Do I even want to know?" He asked

"Will it deter you from going in?"

"Nope"

"Then no. You don't. Has anyone heard from Valerie?"

While I was figuring out what we were dealing with, Damon was trying to open the armory by calling Valerie to siphon the spell.
