I tracked Rayna down to somewhere around Memphis. I knew where she was going, so I set up a little road block. When the car she was in stopped I shot her with a tranquilizer dart from the back windshield. I walked up to the driver and compelled him.
"Sit here. Don't call anyone. Don't move."
I turned the emergency blinkers on in his car before walking over to the backseat and grabbing Rayna. I loaded her unconscious body into the backseat of my own car, before driving off. After a while of driving, my phone suddenly started ringing. I rolled my eyes and sighed when I saw that it was Damon.
"Damon. To what do I owe the pleasure?" I answer
"Bring her back!" He ordered, clearly frustrated
I looked at unconscious Rayna through the mirror
"No idea what you're talking about."
"Isn't it a little embarrassing, still playing fetch for the Armory?"
"I'm no longer affiliated with that organization. Try to keep up." I told him
"Fine. Enlighten me." He exclaimed "What are your exact needs for Rayna Cruz at this moment? Because I promise you, I need her a lot more than you do."
Anger floods through me with that statement. There's no way in hell anything he needed was more important than Bonnie. And the fact that he just forgot about her, not a single thought to his best friend who had stood by him through everything, made my blood boil.
"Oh, is that so?" I asked "Well, then let me ask you a question... How's Bonnie? You know, the best friend that you just abandoned. What's her life been like since you decided to just push the pause button on your pathetic existence?"
"We're not talking about Bonnie right now. We're talking about Stefan, who is currently dying, and the fact that Rayna is the only key to his survival..."
I cut him off annoyed
"Well, then I suggest you find another way to save him... Because you're not getting her."
I cut the call and tossed my phone onto the passenger seat.
After a while, Rayna finally woke up. She looked around in horror at her current situation.
"Oh, no. Not you again." She groaned when she saw my reflection in the rearview mirror.
"Afraid so. Lucky for me, you seem to be a bit off your game today." I told her
"I would rather die than go back to the Armory." She said "I'll strangle myself with this seatbelt if I have to."
"Don't bother" I replied "They know where you are. Seems that Alex St. John got everything she needed from you."
"So, what am I missing? Why am I here?" She asked, confused
"Let's just say that I have my reasons."
"Wow. That's specific. Are we playing 20 Questions now? Great, I'm game." She mocked
I ignored her. Bonnie's life was too important to waste time bickering with Rayna.
"Are you aware that the Armory has engineered a type of pill that suppresses magic?" I asked, getting straight to the point. "I need to know if the effects of those pills can be reversed."
