A few days later
"Sirens?" Caroline asks, eyeing me
We were packing up her stuff in boxes as I told her about what I had found out.
"I know, it seems insane but all the clues point to this. Enzo knew I'd understand the sirens and The Odyssey. He was the one who read the book to me...." My voice trails of thinking about him again
Caroline gives me a sad look and I snap myself out of it going back to putting her stuff away, when I realize I didn't even know why I was.
"Why are we packing?" I ask "Are you moving?"
"Uh huh" She nods "I'm moving in with Stefan, at the Salvatore house"
"Oh when did that happen?"
"A few days ago when the girls were attacked, remember?" She asks "Alaric wants to move back in with them, and it wouldn't work out if we lived in the same house, he told me to go be where I wanted to"
I try to force a smile, but it wouldn't come through. I wanted to be happy for her, but all I could think about is what me and Enzo were going to do. How we were gonna live our life.
"Anyway back to what you were saying" She interrupts "I don't get it. If he left the clues then why push you away again? Why did he even leave them just to tell you to go?"
"I don't think it was for us to help them" I answer, she turns to look at me, curious "I think he was trying to help us. He wanted to tell us what we're dealing with"
"So our next villain is what? Mermaids?"
"That's what I'm trying to figure out" I reply taping my box shut "Are we done here?"
"Yeah. Thank you!"
I give a small smile, nodding
"You heading home?" She asks
"Yeah I have a few pictures from the crime scene I want to look over and I was gonna read through the reports"
She nods
"Ok just take care of yourself. I love you"
"Love you too" I reply as I walk out.
The next day
It's been almost a week since we found Enzo and Damon. Everyday I woke up looking for more clues left by Enzo. I looked through every book on his bookshelf trying to see if there are any other old stories he might hint towards. Hope started to leave me again as everyday ended with no new updates. We were so close yet so far. I tried to stay strong, but I didn't know how much longer I could.

I stood over Caroline staring at the computer screen as she sat down in the chair next to me. Her phone was on the table, on speaker, in a call with Stefan.
"So what does your boss think of your daily hobby of tracking crime reports?" Stefan asked
"I told her it's like a really dark version of Pinterest." She replies before turning her head to me "Did you see the cranberry muffins in the break room? I got them at the girls' bake sale."
"I'm not hungry, thanks" I say keeping my guess on the computer, focused
"Well, Bonnie, you need to eat something."
"I will... later" I tell her "Right now, we need to be looking for crimes farther away from Tennessee. They might have been traveling these past few days."
"Okay. I'll widen the search radius" She says doing as I asked "Especially now that we know Enzo's leaving clues."
I look away from the screen turning my head towards her.
