Enzo's POV

By the time we get off the plane and grab our luggage, it's nearly 8pm. We hop in a cab to take us to our hotel. Bonnie's eyes are glued to the window as she takes in everything, a huge smile on her face. I smile to myself seeing her this happy after so long. I put an arm on her back.

"It'll take atleast an hour to get to the hotel" I tell her gently rubbing her shoulder.

She turns to me wide eyed "An hour?!"

I laugh "Don't worry darling we have plenty of time to explore. Besides I think the hotel itself will be exciting enough for you"

She furrows her brow and gives me a look but doesn't say anything. A long drive later the car stops in front of Shangri-La Paris. Bonnie looks up at the large white stoned building. The black gates open to let is in.

"This is our hotel?"

"It was home to a prince before they remade it into a hotel" I remark

"Let me guess... you met him during the french revolution?" She mocks "Before he got beheaded?"

"Ha Ha" I reply "Hilarious. I'm not that old and you know that"

She gives me a smile before opening the door and walking inside. A bellboy comes to grab our luggage. The lobby looks every bit like an old mansion, decorated with gold furniture, and sparkling chandeliers. After we check in we head up to the top floor.

"Room 719" Bonnie exclaims approaching a door "This is it!"

She opens the door and steps in. I follow behind her, and watch Bonnie's jaw drop. Her face gleams with joy, which makes a smile spread across my face instantly. The entrance is to the loft where theres a large living area. One wall has a beige couch leaned against it, in front of it sits a coffee table, with a gift basket on top. Across from the couch a large railing spreads across the length of the room, creating a mezzanine overlooking the bottom level. Near that railing is a solid wooden desk, and to the side a small television. In the corner sits a little wardrobe, with a mirror on the wall above it. I picture Bonnie fixing up there before going out, myself waiting on the couch flipping through books. This is our home for the next month.

"Enzo!" Bonnie squeals turning around to look at me.

I grab her hand and twirl her around. "Penthouse suite in Paris!" I shrug "Isn't that what you asked for"

Her grin grows wider than I thought was humanly possibly. She wraps her arms around my neck and plants a soft kiss on my lips. "I love you" She whispers

I smile back fondly. "and I love you"

Without hesitation she lets go of me and squeals as she hurries down the stairs to the bedroom area. I smile following behind her as she looks around taking everything in. The best part comes at the end when we make our way onto the balcony. In the dark night sky, the most beautiful site is right in front of us, a glimmering shining Eiffel Tower. Bonnie leans against the railing, and even though the balcony spreads across the length of the entire room and more, I find myself creeping up right behind her and entangling my arms around her. She doesn't seem to mind though, or notice particularly, I can tell that the aesthetic of Paris has her truly taken.

***

Over the next few weeks, Bonnie and I cover every inch of Paris. I take her to all the monuments, museums, palaces and gardens I know. We spend several days shopping down the Champs Elysees. Bonnie buys gifts for Caroline, Alaric, Matt and the girls. I buy gifts for her. Every night we go to a new restaurant, determined to take in as much as we can. After dinner we go for a daily stroll along the Seine River and admire the city lights. When we go back to the hotel room, Bonnie always spends some time studying her grimoires and analyzing every part of the tuning fork. I take this time to read or write or sometimes simply watch her.
