Chapter 11 : Runaway

Enzo's POV

I quickly got a car and rushed to meet back up with Bonnie, filled with worry. Damon had texted me the location to some small motel close by, when I got there he was standing outside leaning against my car parked in front.

"Is she alright?" I asked rushing up to them

"Yeah. She fell asleep in the car" Damon replied

He started saying something else but it passed over my head as I walked over to the passenger side where Bonnie slept. I didn't know what I expected to see, but just seeing her there relieved me. I slowly opened the door and leaned down next to her, stroking her hair gently as she woke up.

"Hey..." She said softly "Did Rayna give us anymore names?"

I shook my head

"Not yet. How are you feeling?"

"I'm fine" She replied, forcing a smile.

I could see it on her that she wasn't fine. I gave her a sad look, still thinking about Alex's offer. If there was a chance she could help Bonnie, shouldn't I take it? But then I thought of Mary Louise and how she had lied to Nora to get what she wanted. I couldn't trust her.

"Come on, let's go inside" I told her "You can freshen up before we get the next name"

She nodded as I helped her up and we walked into the motel.

"Do you want something to eat?" I ask after we go into a room "We could go out or I could grab something for you"

"I'm fine" She states sitting down on the bed "Just stay here with me, please"

"Darling you haven't eaten all day..." I walk over to her and caress her face "I don't have to go. We can make..." I stop before saying Damon and think for a second ".... him go get it" I gesture to the door

She smiles softly, looking up at me as i stand by her, an arm resting gently on her back.

"You can say his name" She whispers

"Ah... progress!" I cheer

She rolls her eyes

"We'll go out" She shrugs "Are we staying here for the night?"

"Afraid so" I smile stepping forward in front of her and looking at her slyly "Now I know it's not exactly the most romantic getaway but we'll make do"

Her smile widens as she looks up at me

"I guess" She shrugs playfully, reaching her hands out to hold mine swinging them around

"Yoo Hoo lovebirds!" Damon knocks on the door interrupting us "Are you coming? I'm hungry"

I roll my eyes and she does the same as we exchange looks

"Might reconsider the dinner thing if he's going to be there" She mutters

"I heard that" Damon comments

"Yeah no i'm not doing this" She shakes her head

"Come on, luv" I insist "Let's go eat and then we'll get some sleep before we have to go out and take care of more names"

She hesitantly agrees and we go out for dinner. After eating, most of which was Damon annoying Bonnie and her ignoring him, we return back to the motel. Bonnie watched, appalled when Damon follows us into the room.

"Oh I'm sorry" He remarks noticing us staring at him "I just assumed since you two were..." He clasps his hands together, meaning to represent the fact that we were together "....you'd be sharing a bed.... But if you want separate beds i'd be fine with sleeping in the car"
