Battle Box

"Clay, do you wanna team up with Nick and I?" George asked. 

"Sure. Anyway, got any idea of how the environment in the box is like?" I asked. 

"Well, I heard it was a jungle area, which kinda sucks for me as my quirk is going to be prone to accidents there." Nick replied. 

"A jungle area, huh? It should be best suited for those who excel at stealth." I said. 

"So... Someone like Rose?" George asked. 

"Exactly!" I replied as the three of us approached Rose, requesting her/him to join our group. 

"Sorry guys, I'm already in a group with Harvey, Astelic and Vurb." Rose said. 

"Aww man, that's too bad." I said. 

Feeling somewhat defeated, Nick, George and I went back to figuring out who we should recruit. 

"Hey, what about Ant?" I suggested. 

"Ant? I don't mean to underestimate him but, I don't get how he's stealthy considering the other day he accidentally knocked my orange soda can over." Nick said. 

"You're still on about that?" George asked. 

"Yes." Nick replied. 

"Apart from Nick's orange soda incident, I still think he's the next best thing aside from Rose. If we hurry, I'm sure he would be happy to join our group." I said. 

"He's right." George said as he nudged Nick. 

"Fine. But he'll have to buy me orange soda after this." Nick replied. 

We found Ant relatively easy as he sticks out relatively well, I mean, he's a humanoid cat among humans. What were you expecting? 

Immediately after we recruited Ant, the emcee announced the rounds. Our team was going against a team from Class 1B (they are not important in this fanfic heheheheheheheheh)

"How are you with jungle areas, Ant?" I asked. 

"I can climb trees and move around quietly while hiding in the flora." Ant said. 

"Ooh, like some sort of jaguar!" George said. 

"I guess you can say that." Ant said. 

"Ant, you'll be doing that. Try and take out our opponents using the element of stealth." I said. 

"What about us?" Nick asked. 

"You and George will rush to the middle, take out anyone who comes while I'll whatever lane I can find to cut them off." I said. 

"Sounds like a plan." George replied. 

The Battle box event started 5 minutes later after we finished discussing our strategy. For our first round, we managed to win pretty easily. The next few round were the same until the semi finals, this time we were up against Harvey, Rose, Astelic and Vurb. 

"Alright, gotta keep my guard up." I thought as I sped through the left lane, searching for opponents when suddenly, someone dropped out of nowhere and swung their sword at me, luckily I was able to dodge fast enough. 

"Your reflexes aren't bad, Clay." The person said, it was Astelic. 

"Thanks, and I thought weapons weren't allowed in this event?" I asked. 

"I'm an exception. My weapon IS my quirk." Astelic said as she threw her sword at me, which I dodged. 

"You're not very good at sword throwing, aren't yo- What the heck?" I said before I was interrupted by my disability to pick up Astelic's sword. 

"Only I can pick up the sword, it is bound to me." Astelic said as she reached out her arm. Immediately, her sword came flying back to her grasp. 

"So you're kind of like Thor?" I asked. 

"Yeah." Astelic replied. 

"I'm not gonna let that intimidate me!" I said as I charged towards her and threw a punch, she dodged it to my surprise. 

The two of us started squaring off and honestly, I was pretty much in a bind here. Not only did I have to worry about getting punched in the face, I also had to worry about getting sliced in half by Astelic's sword. I wish I had a shield with me. That way I could replicate one of the stunts that Captain America would do in a sword fight in the comics. 

"You're losing." Astelic said as she managed to strike the back of her sword onto my chest, dealing a great amount of damage on me as I lost my footing and fell to the ground. 

As I laid down, I saw a bunch of vines on a tree. Immediately, I knew just what to do.

"Not yet!" I said as I got up and ran towards the vines while Astelic chased after me while swinging her sword. 

"Why are you running?!?!?!" She yelled. 

Once I reached the tree, I forced my right leg onto it and did a backflip over Astelic before grabbing one of the vines and swinging myself to her direction. I crashed into her as both of us fell onto our backs. 

"Ouch... Maybe that wasn't the best plan?" I said to myself as I got up next to a knocked out Astelic. Immediately, I snatched her baton and snapped it in half so she couldn't use it anymore. 

"Right, now that that's done. Wonder how the rest are doing?" I thought. 

*George POV*

"Nick! Harvey incoming!" I yelled as I was going toe to toe with Vurb. So far, I hadn't managed to alter his vision yet, I just need to find an opening! Even if it's just for a little while. 

"C'MERE YOU!" Nick yelled as he blasted himself right onto Harvey, toppling them both over in a rather hilarious way as Vurb and I stopped fighting for a second just to witness the scene. 

"I wonder how Clay and Ant are doing?" I thought. 

*Ant POV*

I was being a little sneaky jaguar as I pounced from tree to tree. Then, I spotted Clay in front of me. Weird, shouldn't he be on the left lane?

"Hey Ant, how's everything?" Clay asked. 

"So far doing fine, I haven't found anyone to ambush yet." I replied. 

"Same, but not for long!" Clay said before he threw a punch at me, which I saw coming. 

"Hi Rose." I said. 

"Hi." They answered back. "How did you know it was me?" 

"You fell for Clay's manipulation once again." I replied. 

"But in your other matches, you always regrouped with him around this time." Rose said. 

"Yeah, not for this one. Because you're in it." I replied. 

"Smart." Rose said before she/he started attacking me while in Clay's body. I dodged mostly all her attacks. 

"Why aren't you fighting back?" Rose asked before she started turning back into herself. 

"I was waiting for you to tire yourself out." I said as I swept her/him off their feet and stuck them on the head, knocking Rose out.
