"You would think that writing our last exams will be easy." Dylan is staying over tonight, we write our first last exam in two days. Amari is playing with Noah's Dog.

Noah was here to fetch Kate. I think they are going on a date, I honestly do not want to know anything they do not tell me.

"Come on, let us finish up here so we can take a break." I want to feed her maybe she will go to sleep. She has not been really loud, just saying random things out loud. She started eating more solids and sleeping for longer periods of time. I am actually really happy that she is quick at adapting to setting changes, while I am not as good at doing that.

Dylan left an hour ago and I am trying to clean the living room. Amari is sound asleep in my room and my mom is still at work. I am really happy she did not get mad about Amari staying with us for a while, since she has been taking fewer shifts, it gives her a chance to focus on herself and help me babysit.

"Hello?"

"Hey, baby." His voice sounds tired.

"Are you okay?" He is silent and I take that as a no.

"You can not talk about it?" He answers abruptly

"I can, I just feel like you should not stress about me right now. How is Amari?"

"She has been adapting really well and she began eating solids and I am ecstatic about it because I feel like it is healthier for her to eat solids af her age. I will have to call Lani's housekeeper and tell her how to make the food. How is Russia?"

"As cold as I remember."

"You have been to Russia before?"

"I was born here and even spent a huge part of my childhood here."

"So you are Russian?"

"Yes, I am Russian. My father was Russian, my mother was Slovakian." He yawns and I feel like the conversation is coming to an end but it does not.

Third person POV

"Baby, are you still awake?" He asks but she is asleep. He hangs up and looks at the ceiling. He thought back to when they first meet, God, was she perfect. Why was it so hard for him to tell her the truth? He would have to tell her at some point but not until she is done with her exams, she needed to focus.

He made her believe that he had a choice in taking over the mafia but he did not. It was his father's dying wish and he can not back out of it again. His uncle gave him grace because he understood that he had a debt to pay but now, there was no one who could keep the throne occupied and he had to ascend the family throne, he did not have a choice.

"Josh, your uncle is asking for you." He gets up and makes his way to his uncle's bedside.

"You called for me?" His uncle was dying, you could see it in his eyes, he lost the will to live.

"With every passing day, I become weaker and weaker. Grow some balls and take your rightful place in this family." His uncle had a colourful vocabulary.

"Uncle, you know I have a debt to pay."

"I want you to listen to me, it is not a debt if he is dead." His uncle smiles, Josh's father and his uncle were the best of friends. They did almost everything together and their favourite activity was making people pay.

"Uncle, you know who you are asking me to kill?"

"You are the son of Daniel Goncharov. Do not tell me about some wanna-be gangster. He saved you but he saved you as a debt to your father. Now, fetch his head and take your rightful place-" Josh felt conflicted. "-Now leave I want to sleep."

Josh wanders to his father's study. Walking in, the scent of his father abruptly hits his nostrils. The leather chair he used to play in, the table is still the same black oak. His father's portrait was hanging on the wall, opposite it was the family portrait. Josh was twelve when it was taken, a few months before both his parents were assassinated.

He has never been able to get over it. His mind wonders to May, it always does. She just always has a way of helping him from going too far. He thought of her as his light. As broken as she was, all her sharp ends, fit into his grooves and they made the perfect fit.

He realizes that the faster he gets this over and done with, the faster he can convince May to come to Russia with him.

Josh may be reaching too far but reaching is better than laying still.

May wakes up to Amari hitting her leg. What an amazing way to wake up, she thought. She noticed her phone was still next to her, she had fallen asleep while talking to Josh.

"Tomorrow is an important day, the day of our first exam and I honestly think that we are prepared." Dylan states. His mother's passing is still such a fresh wound but he has put those feelings aside to fully focus on the exams and he will deal with it properly when they end.

Spending time together was difficult for Dylan and Ryan. Dylan's homophobic aunt was looking after him for the duration of the exams, as much as he wanted to chase her away, Ryan asked him to let her stay.

.
Kate and Noah were beginning to like each other and it was mutual. Noah realized that he could see a future with Kate. Kate knew that Noah is who she wants to be with.

.
May was trying to make sense of all of this but one thing was sure, life is good and should be cherished.
