Letting things go

I wake up really early and Jaden's still asleep. I walk downstairs and see people asleep, like, everywhere. I pick up a few things on the ground and I see Tony on his phone on the couch. "Who the fuck keeps inviting your ass," I say walking over to him. "No one, I invite myself." I roll my eyes and pick up the trash. "You should take the hint no one wants you here." He laughs, "Literally nothing was funny." I look back at him. He shrugs, "I mean, someone does keep inviting me but... you are close with them. But I don't want to cause any more drama and your relationship with her." I look at him confused. "Her?" I sit down on the table in front of him. "Awh, you wanna talk to me?" I groan, "Don't make me regret it. And no, I feel extremely uncomfortable right now." He laughs and I look at him weirdly. "Yes, her." I nod, "Okay... who?" He sits up facing me. "Well, you already have so much drama going on right now with her... I don't want to create more." I nod, "Mads. She's the only girl I have drama with right now." He shrugs. "How do I know you are telling the truth?" He hands me his phone, unlocked. "Look at our texts." I look at him and back at his phone. "No, I can't go through your phone like that." I reach his phone out to him and he pushes it towards me, "I am giving you permission." I sigh and look at his texts. This whole time Mads really was inviting him. I hand him his phone as I see her walk into the kitchen. "I'll, uh, be right back." He nods and I walk into the kitchen.

"Hi," I say leaning against the counter across from Mads as she pours milk in her cereal, "Hey." She says dryly. "Where did you sleep last night?" I ask as she walks over to the silverware drawer. "Bryce's." I raise my eyebrows and nod after noticing her wearing his sweatshirt, "By the way, thank you for helping out Jaden last night." She says and I nod, "Well I mean, It wouldn't have happened if you didn't invite Tony as you have been." She shrugs, "And I wouldn't have invited Tony if Jaden and Bryce didn't invite me for a threesome." I start to feel sick. "Oh fuck off. I know damn well both of them would never do anything with you again." She scoffs, "Right." I groan, "What the hell happened to you? You lied once and you're a new person." Bryce walks in, "Why do you have my hoodie?" He asks Mads as he walks over to me. I look at him confused. "Because she slept in your room last night, Bryce," I say to him, knowing she lied now. "No... no, she didn't." I groan, "Please, like you don't remember inviting her over for a threesome with Jaden?" He laughs, "Never." He says and I look over at Mads. "Hm. That's another lie. Two, actually within 5 minutes. I wonder how many other lies you've told within the time frame we met to now." She looks away from me. "You know who never lied to me? Nessa. ANd you know what... the more I hang around these new mads, makes me grow onto Nessa more. Speaking of, I'm going to hang out with her and Josh. I'll leave you to love birds alone." I wink at both of them and walk to Josh's room. 

"I mean, from everything that I can remember shes never told me anything and lied to your face about it," Nessa says looking at me. "Yeah well, she also hates you.. so she'd lie to you about it too." Josh shrugs and I shake my head, rolling my eyes. "I think you two just need alone time and seriously talk about everything." I shake my head, "No, I would go insane. She's so different now." Jaden walks in, "Yeah. Because her and Griff are talking." I close my eyes tightly and open them again. "Uhm, what?" Josh asks as Nessa and I nod at Josh's response. "Yeah, I just found out." Me and Josh look at each other, so confused and surprised. "I'm sorry... her and... Griffin? Like... Griffin Johnson?" He nods and closes the door. "What the hell?" Nessa says as we all laugh. "You think Griffin is making her act light this though?" They all look at me like I should know the answer is yes. "Well we need to help her, Griffin is a great friend but... he's not good in relationships." "Why do you still care about her?" Jaden asks and I shrug. "Why do you not?" Josh looks at me, "Y/n, she hurt you so many times." I nod, "I know... and it probably because of Griffin. If we can help her we can get our mads back." "There is no 'our Mads' anymore, Y/n," Josh says and I stand up. "Lock me in a closet with her, so there's no window to get out of or anything. I don't care how much I beg, do not let me out." We all come up with a plan and we start it "Yeah, I just can't find it," Josh says as Mads walks into his closet. I walk in quietly behind her and nod at Josh and he closes the door and leans against it. I turn the light on and she turns around, jumpy. "What the hell?!"  I nod, "I know... sit down."

It's been an hour of us arguing, talking, yelling, and more. "Why are you doing this?" She asks as she leans her head against the wall. "I want the old you back." She scoffs, "Yeah well, you won't get her back because this is the new me now." I shake my head "You were my best friend. I moved here and I met you and I fell in love with you, friend-wise. I thought you were, like, my soulmate but as a best friend. We did everything together, Mads. To sharing everything with each other, matching at parties, changing in front of each other, having inside jokes, making fun of the boys, and so much more together. You were the perfect best friend. You don't miss that? Any of it? I mean, you out of all people should know how bad my trust issues are and you took advantage of me, Mads." She rolls her eyes. "Why throw that all away for a trashy ass boyfriend." She looks at me confused, "Excuse me?" I nod, "I said what I said. You threw so many amazing friendships away to get into a toxic ass relationship with a boy who will have a 90% chance of cheating on you." She stands up and bangs on the door. "Let us out Josh!" "Y/n?" Josh says and Mads looks at me and I start to tear up. "I walked into this thinking I would have my best friend back. I think I lost her more. Let us out Josh." I grab her wrist as Josh opens the door and I walk to the front door. I hand her $30 dollars. "Heres money for an uber. You aren't welcome here until you fix your act." She looks at me confused, "Excuse me?" I nod and push her lightly out the door. "You can come to get everything tomorrow that is yours, I've had enough of your lies and presence today. Just let me know when you are coming so I can stay in Jaden's room." I say and close the door. I turn around and see Josh, Jaden, Bryce, Addison, and Nessa standing there. My eyes tear up and Jaden nods and walks over and gives me a hug. "You'll get her back." He says rubbing my back. "She went weeks without talking to me. I won't." I walk to my room and I walk around and see all the pictures I have of us on my photo wall in polaroids. I take a stuffed animal she got me and I hug it while tears flow down my cheeks. Yeah, I know, I told her to stay away but it is for the best. And I know I'll miss her but this needed to happen before it starts affecting my mental health. I look at my door to see everyone still standing there. They all walk over and bring me into a group hug. "If she doesn't come back it is 100% her loss, not yours." I smile and everyone but Bryce and Jaden leaves. Jaden lays on my bed and Bryce walks out and turns around. "Y/n?" Bryce says and I look at him confused. "If she really doesn't come back, just know that you aren't losing the old Mads. You already lost her weeks ago and you didn't even know. This time you'll be losing the new Mads who wouldn't be good for you." I smile as he closes the door. "Woah, Bryce, being nice?!" I laugh as I lay next to Jaden. "I love you." He says as he holds me. "I love you too."
