-3rd Person POV, limited-
Duduludu, duduludu, duduludu!
The sound rang through the desolate, abandoned base, a small, high pitched song.
Kssh, badabambum, kssh, burburbtttbtttbttt~
It sounded like the opening and closing of an automatic door, coming from a different area.
Tap tap tappity tap, tap tap, tap tap tapppp, tap, tap, tap.
The uneven footsteps of someone with an obvious limp.
All these sounds were normal sounds, but surely out of place altogether. Whatever- or whoever- the footsteps belonged to, they were closer approaching.
Thud, thud, thud thud thud, thud.
They stopped, and the whooshing sound of a door opening resonated through the air yet again. Whatever it was, it limped it's way over to what sounded like a computer, from the furious tapping and clicking sounds that filled the air, seemingly working on something. Their were a few noises of frustration here or there, and the scraping of something at a door, making whatever it was work faster. Finally, it finished what it was doing, and all sound ceased. It's job was done.
-Keralis' POV, 1st-
I paced anxiously outside of Tango's base, worrying about Bubbles. Was he going to be okay? What was going to happen to him? What if- "Keralis!" A jovial voice rang out behind me that I couldn't quite place my finger on. I figured it rude not to turn around and at least acknowledge them, so I did. They didn't look like anyone I knew, making me instantly wary. I loved everyone, give or take a few, but this person gave me strange vibes. "Yeah? Who're you?" I asked, looking at them confusedly. "What? It's me, you know who I am, don't you?" I shook my head no in response, and they sighed. "It's Joe, silly! I'm just merged." I raised an eyebrow. Merged? What was he talking about? "Right, you don't know what that means, sorry- basically, I let the other side of me take more control, and we made a combo, which we've decided to call Poe. Cool, right?"
I stared at him both in disbelief. Disbelief and intrigue. "Very cool! I wish I knew how to do that, but I'm not even sure I have one of those 'other side' thingies..." He laughed a little, before starting again. "Yeah, I guess that could be true.. But hey, from experience, I can tell you that having someone else in control half the time isn't exactly all that fun." I shrugged, nodding in understanding. "Alright, I'll trust you on that. Anyways, where are you heading?" He rubbed his neck awkwardly, laughing again. "I came to see Tango to pick something up, and then I was going to meet with another Hermit for, er, a lunch collab- yeah. What about you, why are you here?" I shrugged off the strange aura he was emanating with, and explained what had happened with Bdubs in the Shopping District, and why I was waiting for Tango to finish healing him.
He nodded in understanding, but the look on his face was insucient. "Ah. Well, I'm just going to go pick up that thing now, I'll see you later." And just like that, he was gone. 'Rude...' I thought, but I didn't have much time to, because just then, I was sent about a million texts from xB. 'Why would he be texting me?' I thought, opening my DM's with a raised eyebrow.
