Nolan watched as Madison sat in the empty chair next to Lydia directly behind him so she could keep a close eye on him. Stiles took the seat next to Nolan. He turned around and gave his attention to Madison who looked at him oddly.

"Can I help you?" Madison asked sarcastically "I'm just curious as to why you hate Gerard so much" Stiles stuttered. He regretted asking the second Madison dropped her pen "That doesn't concern you. I have my reasons and the second Gerard finds out I'm working with you he'll back off. He knows not to cross me" Madison informs Stiles.

"What if you can't protect me like your father thinks you can?" Nolan pipes up turning his head to the side so he could get Madison in his view. Madison took a deep breath before she opened her mouth. She knew now wouldn't be the right time to reveal the truth "I have my ways. You'll find out what you need to know when the times right. I promise I'm not going to let anything happen to you"

Nolan couldn't help but smile at her words. He connected his eyes to hers where she looked at him with love in her eyes. Being around Nolan brought out a different side to Madison. A side where Madison felt happiness, she felt nervous. She barely knew Nolan, but she knew that he would soon be an important part of her life.

The teacher walked into the room with a bunch of test sheets in his hands. What Madison did to deserve a test on her second day she didn't know. How Madison was going to be able to complete the test was another story.

She watched as the teacher handed the sheets out to each student except Madison "Considering this is your second day, you can start by reading Lydia's notes" Mr. Harris moaned practically throwing the sheets down onto the table in front of Lydia.

"What's his deal?" Madison raised an eyebrow and looked at Stiles for an answer "He's naturally like that" Stiles laughed but Lydia shushed him and said "Actually....Scott and Stiles wound him up last year to the point he no longer cared about how he acted"

"Why doesn't that surprise me?" Madison smirked "because Stiles gives off a sarcastic vibe" Nolan answered, surprised at his own answer. Both Stiles and Lydia turned to look at Nolan and said, "Where'd the confidence come from all of a sudden?" in unison "I-um...I don't know" Nolan replied, returning to his shy form.

Madison slouched in her chair and reached for Nolan's hand under the desk. She noticed as he jumped from her touch but took her hand in his, he turned his head slightly to the side and formed a smile onto his lips "Stiles, you can't use sarcasm as a weapon" Madison blabbered. Stiles rolled his eyes and said "sweetheart, I've been using sarcasm my entire life" Lydia couldn't help but laugh "He means he's tried to use it. He never gets anywhere" Lydia chuckled, earning a look from Stiles.

"Holloway, you've gone awfully quiet" Stiles said, again sarcastically. Madison used her other hand and flicked Stiles behind the ear "Oh, leave him alone Stilinski" she exclaimed, the other two bursting into laughter as Stiles rubbed the back of his ear.

The rest of the lesson Madison read through the notes Lydia had wrote, her hand still connected to Nolan's under the desk. They never broke their touch. Madison couldn't understand the feeling growing inside her, but she didn't want to let go of his hand, she didn't want to lose his touch.

Madison used her other hand to ripped a piece of paper out from her notebook, writing her phone number down with a small note 'Give me a text' Madison could feel someone's gaze on her, she turned her head slightly to the side and noticed Lydia watching her.

The class came to an end breaking Madison's and Nolan's hand apart. Nolan felt as Madison removed her hand from his, leaving a piece of paper lay in his hand. He picked up the piece of paper and read the note which contained her phone number. He looked down at the ground then up to meet her eyes where Madison was already smiling at him. A shy smile but it meant the world to Nolan.

Lydia dragged Madison down the corridor and into the cafeteria. She grabbed one tray and placed a load of different food onto it. Sitting down opposite Madison at the table, she placed the tray in the middle for both girls to share "Do you like Nolan?" Lydia asked the dark-haired girl "I-um...I barely know him so how would I even know if I like him" Madison replied, a slight tone of attitude in her voice.

She didn't mean to sound bitchy, but she felt as if Lydia put her right on the spot "There's this saying, love at first sight. Even if you don't know the person you'll know if he's the one. You'll feel this overwhelming feeling the second you lay eyes on that person" Lydia blabbered. Madison shook her head and said "I'm his protector not his lover"

The way Lydia described 'Love at first sight' to Madison made her think about Nolan. The first time she laid eyes on him she felt this overwhelming feeling, one she couldn't understand but she was his protector. She couldn't fall in love with him, it would put him in danger.

Lydia waved her hand in front of Madison's face, gaining her attention. Madison jumped out of her thoughts and gave her attention back to Lydia "Did you get a word I said?" Lydia asked her, raising her left eyebrow. Madison shook her head, tracing her hand through her hair as a distraction "It's my birthday Saturday night and I'm having a party. I'd like you to come" Lydia repeated.

Madison trotted down the corridor and towards the second row of lockers, pressing in her combination on the lock and it opened revealing one book. She grabbed the book and placed it into her side bag, locking the locker shut she turned on her heels and prepared to leave.

As she walked down the hall she spotted Nolan talking to Lydia. Madison muttered a Latin word under her breath and listened to the conversation Lydia and Nolan were having "Do you think we can trust her?" Lydia asked Nolan. Before Nolan got the chance to answer, Madison appeared next to Lydia and said "You can trust me" Nolan looked at her with confusion and replied with "How'd....you were across the room. How'd you hear us?"

"I'm not as ordinary as you think" Madison told the duo "Considering you live in the same street as me, would you like a ride home?" she asked Nolan, who still had a confused expression on his face. Nolan nodded in return, moving his eyes to Lydia's direction "Meet me by the blue Mini Cooper car in 10minutes" Madison informed, purposely brushing her hand against his as she walked past him. His touch sent shivers down her spine.
