"I think it looks perfect on you, Livy." Mrs. Dunk awed at her daughter. She was only a sweet little girl some years ago and now she had grown into this beautiful woman. Oh, how time flies by, thought Mrs. Dunk. Her daughter was getting married soon and seeing Olivia in wedding dress was making her emotional.

Olivia agreed with her mother. She thought the dress was perfect. It was simple with few little white flower stitched to the dress. The crew neck and the long sleeves of the dress made it looked modest, but the silkiness of the dress gave it an elegant look. She had decided, this was her wedding dress.

With little time left, the remaining wedding preparations were in robust swing. It was decided that Olivia and her family would leave a week ahead of the wedding. While Danny and her sister, Anna would follow after few days as Danny had to wrap work up to clear schedule and Anna had yet to fly to DelBer.

A week before the wedding

The Dunks started journey at the sight of the first dawn. The road to Old Creek was long. They would only reach there by evening at earliest.

The mood in the car was that of excitement and wary. Olivia enjoyed the change in the scenario as they drove from busy town houses to more greener fields and woods. While Mr. Dunk was in deep thoughts about the eventuality. He only hoped to get out of Old Creek in the same way as they were now.

Old Creek was a town with few inhabitants who refused to leave the place no matter the circumstances.  They were mostly older people who had lived most part of their life in it and could not bear to separate from it. While many younger folks, like Mr. Dunk had left that forsaken town for good and to never return again.

The reception was great though, with grandparents showering hugs and kisses upon Olivia. There were stories and laughs, with warm food at the dinner. "It might not be a bad idea after all," thought Mr. Dunk.

The following day, she met her cousin Becca whose family never left the town. They went to the big weekly market where traders from cities brought the good stuffs to sell. They explored the fields and the periphery of the forest.

Olivia had always imagined a beautiful town from the stories she had heard but the reality was more mesmerising. It left her more confused as to why her father never talked about it. She was glad that she had decided to come.

With wedding approaching, there were many checklist to be ticked off. There was a priest to arrange, church to book, and the list never seemed to end. "To think that keeping her wedding simple would save her from this troubles, she was so wrong." Olivia sighed.

She couldn't remember the number of trips she had made to the local markets. She thought that she had mapped out the town by now. Luckily, there weren't many shops to cover but that meant finding stuffs were a lot more difficult task.

In one such trips, she had ventured to the other end of the town. The shops were better there. But her cousin had warned her about it. Since that day, she did feel a pair of eyes looking at her. Or may be her cousin's words were getting into her head. She brushed off the thought for then.
