{I am back!!! Woohoo!! Thanks so much for the reads. It has above 1K reads and I'm ecstatic. Also, I'm posting the cover of the book as it isnt very clear in the Prologue chapter. ;D}
Diana sat in Tessa's bedroom, her hand wrapped tightly in gauze. On her lap lay the Book of Guardians, with the Seal still embedded in it. Its leather cover was slightly damaged and worn and the golden lettering on it slightly faded. The letters were of the English alphabets but not the words.
Leie Duaa de Pritorias, it read.
The Seal was still embedded in it, its grooves rough yet giving off a magical vibe.
Diana bit her patched up lip and closed her eyes, her demolished house coming into mind. Alrazo. Heivis lunging at her. The light.
The redhead winced as she slowly moved her bound arm on top of the book. The scratch from Heivis was quite deep and had bled a lot. She waited for Elsa and Lyon who were getting their wounds tended to. Her patience was eating away. The need to know what was written in the book was getting the best of her.
Just as she thought of the two, the door swung open and Lyon walked in. He was wearing a dark green shirt and his green eyes were trained on his right wrist which seemed slightly swollen.
He plopped down next to Diana and looked down at her. "How are you now?", he asked, indicating to her arm. Diana just shrugged and replied, "Meh. Where's Elsa?" "Getting her hands wrapped. She has some pretty bad burns on her palms."
It was late in the evening and the last rays of the sun shone through the blue curtains as the two of them sat in silence.
Funny how so much can happen in just a day.
They got caught in Cuba, miraculously pardoned by the police. Their parents scolded them and they ended by spilling their secret. Then, a crazed sorcerer from another world landed in front of them, burning down half of one of their homes.
Now here they were, sitting wrapped in bandages after using the powers to a large extent.
The day declared its end as the last of the sun's rays shone through the teal curtains. "Do you know what it says?", Lyon asked after an uncomfortable silence. Diana gave him a deadpan look and replied, "Ya think?"
Just as he opened his mouth to reply, the door opened and Tessa popped her head in. "Come on downstairs. Everyone's waiting."
In the living room, a divan was placed across two couches and Elsa sat on it awkwardly, trying to not make eye contact with the six adults in front of her.
Lyon and Diana descended the stairs along with Tessa and took their places next to their partner-in-'crime'. Diana's hands clung to the Book as she analysed the faces of the people in front of her.
Brenda had her usual 'I dont give a damn' look but her eyes told a different story. Kaitlyn and Matt's expressions were stern and calculating but Amylia was the opposite. Her face was lit up in fear and worry, being the caring mother she was. Rosalind and Arnold, on the other hand, looked completely calm and collected although Tessa looked like a nervous wreck.
Kaitlyn swept her bangs away from her eyes and said, "Our house is wrecked. An evil magician guy almost killed our children for a tattered book. What next? Visiting by ancient spirits and old prophecies?"
Elsa twiddled with her thumbs and timidly spoke up, "After Alzaro's spell hit the book and that light erupted, we had a vision." Now that seemed to spike their interest and they leaned a bit forward.
Lyon continued, "We were in this weird room with clocks around us the Trinity was there."
"The ones of whom you are the incarnations of?"
