Alex and (Y/N) walked towards the black lake during the break. (Y/N) was ecstatic, as she was going to spend the whole day with her. On her way, Katie bell, crossed them and Alex let a wistful sigh. (Y/N) shoved him by the shoulder and told "Go talk to her. Or it will be too late!"
Alex nodded, but (Y/N) knew very well that he wasn't going to do anything except follow her for some time. She sighed and kept on walking, while someone ran into her.
"What the-" But she was cut off as that someone lifted her off the ground in a hug and started spinning her. "George!!" She shrieked, while he laughed along with Fred, who was standing behind them.
At last, George put her down and told "I got the girl!"
He grabbed her chin kissing both her cheeks "Thank you! Thank you!!"
Saying that he ran, leaving Fred and a dazed (Y/N) behind. She was dazed, not because he kissed her, but because of how smitten with Alicia he was!
"He is completely whipped!" She muttered and Fred laughed.
"Yeah, he is!" He replied. " I'll better get going! "
"Me too! See you!"
"Bye" He gave her a parting hug and left. she sat near the lake after he left.
Within a few minutes Cedric came there. He snaked his arms around her waist and lifted her off the ground. She shrieked. "What is with the boys and lifting me off the ground, today? " She asked him as he put her back on the ground.
"Just felt like it!" He shrugged. They both sat in comfortable silence for some time.
"So...How are things with Cho?"
"Going good. I'm thinking about asking her out tomorrow." Her heart clenched painfully at his words, but she just smiled.
"Good luck!"
"Thanks! I'll need that! ......... So, what's going on between you and Alex?"
"What?! He is my best friend!"
"Then who am I?" Cedric asked and the corners of her lips tilted upwards.
"My worst friend?" Cedric put a hand on his chest and gasped dramatically in mock hurt.
"You asked for this (Y/L/N)!" He told her and started tickling her sides, making her shriek in laughter. He laughed with her. Somewhere during the process (Y/N) was laying on the ground and Cedric was on the top of her, their faces inches apart. His breath fanned her face and both of them were breathing deeply – One, due to laughing and tickling his best friend and the other because of the position she was with her first love. Her heart pounded in her Chest while butterflies were on the insane mode in her stomach, that was already doing back flips. It did not help when cedric wrapped his arms around her waist and asked "Who am I ?" His voice raspy from all the laughing and breathing. It sent shivers down her spine, her mind, heart and body going crazy.
"My best friend! " She whispered. Cedric smiled a smile that made her insides melt and sat up, (Y/N) following his lead. They both sat in silence again, he looking at the lake and she, calming herself. After that they spent their time chatting like they usually did before, and teasing each other until dinner.
(Y/N) was so happy as she had spent the time with Cedric. She had missed him so much. Though she had Alex, a part of her yearned for Cedric. That part was satisfied for now.
While Cedric was happy about the progress he was making with cho, he couldn't help but miss his best friend. As he spent the time with her today, the part that wanted his best friend was fulfilled.
So both of them entered the great hall beaming, while Alex gave her a knowing smile!
