I did 17 years cause today I turned 17! What a special way for it to end like this. I'll try not to cry while making this.
I updated two chapters at the same time so there's gonna be another chapter after this, just as a final author's note so PLEASE make sure to check that out.
And now for the last time...let's get back to the story;)
I sat on the porch breathing in the fresh morning air. I saw Scorpio and Crystal playing in the front yard. I felt Draco come and sit next to me. He handed me a cup of tea. I smiled, whispering a thanks. "17 years." He breathed. I nodded. It had been 17 years since we won the battle. One year after the battle, we got married. "16 years of our marriage." I responded. He sipped his tea. "Best 16 years of my life...and counting." He looked towards me, smiling that same flirty smile.
And event till this day, it got me every time. I smiled back. Yes, we had our rough times, but we were past that. "Oh, the Weasleys' owl came earlier today. They have invited us over for the Holidays again." He said. "You hear that Crystal? We're going to Rose's house for the holidays!" I told Crystal. She came running up, Scorpio following behind. "Will Uncle Fred and George be there?" Scorpio asked. "Of course." I answered. "Ooh! Will Aunt Ginny be there too?" Crystal piped up. "Yes, yes everyone, just like always." Crystal smiled and motioned Scorpio to follow her back to where they were playing.
"So how do you want to celebrate today?" Draco asked. "How about a trip down memory lane?" I told him. We went back inside, finishing our tea. I followed Draco upstairs and he pulled out a big trunk from under the bed. He opened it up, and we shuffled through the contents.
On top folded was my wedding dress. I pulled it out and let my finger glide across the lace of the fabric as my mind wandered back to that day.
If you like simple...
If you like grand...
"Remember I almost dropped the wine on myself." I laughed. Draco chuckled, "Yeah, and almost tripped walking down the aisle." I put it aside. "Well the train was at least a mile long." I joked.
We rummaged some more. Draco pulled out an Emerald necklace that had been damaged. "Ew no that brings back bad memories." I said. "Memories nonetheless." He muttered. We talked through more of our things. There were pictures, clothes, and many other possessions.
After a while, we started putting everything back. As I was putting stuff back, I found a small plastic bag with a black handkerchief inside. I set it aside as I put away everything else. Draco stored the box away and we got up. "Time for lunch, we should go out." Draco suggested. I nodded, showing him the bag.
"Do you remember this?" I asked. He shook his head. I opened up the bag and pulled out the black handkerchief. It had little initials of D.M. embroidered on the corner. "Wait a second, this was my first Christmas present to you!" He said. I nodded, bringing up the cloth to smell its beautiful fragrance. "I fell in love with the way this smelled of you, so I kept it all these years in this airtight bag." He smiled. "It reminded me of you every time I felt you were growing distant." His arms snaked around me. The phone rang. Scorpio and Crystal were calling me. But all I could sense was the sweet fragrance while I looked into his silver eyes.
Draco made me forget the whole world. Then again, he was my whole world.
"What was it called again? The name of this fragrance." He asked. I smiled. I'd never forget the name. I replied, "Dior Sauvage."
