As the battle rages across Vale, Katooni and Petro rush after Pyrrha and Jaune. Knowing where they were going, the two Jedi begin making their way to the Beacon Vault. Suddenly, they were ambushed by a group White Fang troopers.
White Fang Trooper: Stop right there, humans!
Petro: What's the plan, Katooni? You take the four on the right and I take the four on the left?
Katooni: We can't afford to waste time! We need to catch up to Pyrrha and Jaune!
Petro: Got it.
Petro lunged at the four White Fang troopers on the left and attacked them with his Lightsaber while Katooni attacked the four on the right. Petro was able to cut them down with speed and acrobatics while Katooni applied the fencing style of Makashi. After taking them down, they continued their chase. Meanwhile at the Beacon Courtyard, the Kybuck Clan made their stand when they were attacked by a Atlesian Paladin-290.
Zatt: Everyone stay back!
Without warning, the Paladin fired on Velvet, but Gungi was able to use the Force to push her out of the way. Gungi then rushes to her.
Gungi: <Velvet?! Are you okay?!>
Velvet then proceeds to use her camera to take a picture of Gungi's Lightsaber. Velvet then holds out her hand as her camera forms a hard light construct of Gungi's Lightsaber. Upon activating the duplicated Lightsaber, Gungi was shocked to see Velvet wielding a Lightsaber. She then charges at the Paladin with the Lightsaber. Seeing Velvet wield a Lightsaber shocked the Jedi.
Ganodi: Where did Velvet get a Lightsaber?!
Zatt: I don't know, but it might even the odds! Let's give her a hand!
Zatt and Ganodi then assist Velvet as they begin to slash through the Paladin with their Lightsabers. Velvet then replicates Ruby's Crescent Rose to slash at the Paladin's legs. The Paladin then begins firing at Velvet, but is once again saved by Gungi. The battle intensifies as Grimm continue flooding the Academy. Mordred then coordinates his team.
Mordred: Circe! Use your magic to fight off the Grimm! Grendel! You and Deimos take on the Atlesian robots!
Team SHDW executed Mordred's orders without a problem. During the skirmish with the Paladin, Velvet continues to imitate the weapons of the Beacon students. Suddenly, Velvet is knocked back by the Paladin. The Paladin moved to finish her off, but Gungi rushes over to Velvet and uses the Force to project a protective wall on himself and Velvet. Gungi calls upon both the Force and his Wookie strength to overcome this. This gives Zatt and the rest of the Kybuck Clan the opportunity to strike at the vulnerable Paladin. Zatt plunges his Lightsaber into the Droid's control panel while Ganodi decapitates it. With the pressure relieved, Gungi checks on the injured Velvet.
Gungi: <Velvet, I will protect you with my life!>
Velvet slowly gets up and forms a hard light Lightsaber. Suddenly, a more advanced Paladin enters the battlefield.
Sun: You have got to be kidding me!
With that, the battle was only just beginning. Despite the challenges ahead, the Kybuck Clan readied themselves for battle. Meanwhile, Pyrrha and Jaune had reached the Beacon Vault. Jaune was confused as Pyrrha led him to Ozpin who was standing next to the comatose Amber.
Ozpin: Pyrrha! Get to the pods!
Pyrrha rushes to the pod and Ozpin begins the procedure of transferring Amber's power to Pyrrha. Suddenly, an arrow pierces the glass of Amber's pod, striking her in the chest. The shot kills Amber before the transfer could be completed. It was at that moment that the powers of the Fall Maiden was transferred to Cinder. Jaune charges at Cinder, but Darth Jadus unleashes a barrage of Force Lightning which blasts Jaune against a wall.
Pyrrha: Jaune!
Pyrrha then breaks out of the pod and rushes to Jaune who was barely conscious. She then looked ahead to see Darth Jadus standing over her. Fear had taken hold of her as he ignited his Lightsaber.
Darth Jadus: Feel the power of the Dark Side.
As Pyrrha attempts to summon the courage to stand against Cinder and Jadus, Ozpin intervened.
Ozpin: Take Jaune and get out of here! Find Glynda! Ironwood! Qrow! Bring them here right away! The tower cannot fall!
Pyrrha: But I can help.
Ozpin: You'll only get in the way.
Pyrrha then grabbed Jaune and began running for the elevator. Darth Jadus made no attempt to chase after them.
Cinder: This whole time...right beneath our feet. She was right about you. Such arrogance.
Ozpin says nothing as he readies his cane. Darth Jadus simply watches as Cinder engages in a deadly fight against Ozpin. Despite having the powers of the Fall Maiden, Ozpin proved to be her equal in every way. Darth Jadus watched as a passive spectator as Cinder and Ozpin dueled to the death. In his mind, intervening in this fight as beneath him. After a lengthy battle, Cinder emerged victorious as Ozpin fell lifeless on the floor. Satisfied with her kill, Cinder moves for the elevator, but Jadus remains.
Cinder: Coming, Sith?
Darth Jadus: No. There is a matter I must attend to. A matter I wish to attend to personally. You will not intervene.
Cinder: Whatever you wish, Sith.
Cinder then calmly walks to the elevator and begins her pursuit of Pyrrha. Darth Jadus then sat down and meditated on the Dark Side. In this moment, Darth Jadus would wait until the time was right. He could feel the presence of the Jedi coming closer to him. Darth Jadus would prepare himself for the confrontation.
