After the first round of matches were concluded, an intermission had begun to prepare for the next round of matches for the Vtyal Festival combat tournament. The Kybuck Clan soon saw that they would be facing two members of Team VRML. They also saw that Team SHDW would be facing Team ASUR.
Petro: Team VRML, huh? This should be a cakewalk!
Ganodi: I'm honestly more interested in Team SHDW's fight with Team ASUR. Both completely dominated their matches.
Katooni: We should definitely pay attention to that fight. If we win, chances one of us will be facing one of them.
Petro: I'm not worried.
Zatt: Did you forget the conversation we just had?
Petro: I'm not underestimating anyone. I'm just ready for a fight!
As Petro made his confidence know, ships were seen flying above them. The airships bore the insignia of the Atlesian Military. Soon enough, a large crowd gathered at Beacon's courtyard where they saw Atlesian troops exiting the ship along with a woman.
Petro: Is it me or does that officer look familiar to anyone?
Gungi: <Now that you mention it, she kind of looks like....
Weiss: Winter!
They soon see Weiss approaching the woman. She's excited, but she soon becomes courteous. It didn't take long for them to realize what was going on.
Zatt: Must be related.
Petro was the first to spot seeing Winter being cold to Weiss. Petro couldn't help but chuckle.
Petro: Guess being a stone cold stuck up runs in the family. But now my problem is that now there are two of them.
???: HEY!
Everyone's attention soon falls on a dizzy looking man decapitating two Atlesian Droids with ease. He then kicks one of the head towards Winter.
???: Yeah, I'm talking to you, Ice Queen!
Winter: Halt!
Weiss: Excuse me! Do you have any idea who you are talking to?!
???: Sssshhh. Not you.
The man then pushes Weiss out of his way and confronts Winter.
???: Saw that gaudy ship of yours in town. I guess you're here, too.
Winter: I'm standing right before you.
???: So it would seem.
Winter: You realize you just destroyed Atlas Military property.
???: Oh, oh I'm sorry. See, I mistook this for some sort of...sentient garbage.
Winter: I don't have time for your immature games, Qrow.
Upon hearing the man's name, the Kybuck Clan immediately recall Ozpin mentioning that a man by the name of Qrow Branwen would be arriving. Suddenly, a fight broke out between Qrow and Winter. The Kybuck Clan were shocked at the development that was occurring.
Petro: What the hell just happened?!
Zatt: No idea. Sounds like they got some kind of grudge or something.
Katooni: We should step in!
Byph: I don't think that's a good idea, Katooni! We'd probably just get in the way!
Seeing that the fight showed no sign of stopping, they saw Ruby and Weiss cheering on for the two fighters. They decided to try to get any information about what was going on.
Petro: What the hell is going on?!
Weiss: Some crazy guy just started attacking my sister!
Ruby: That's no crazy guy! That's my uncle!
Petro/Weiss: That guy's your uncle?!
At that point, the Kybuck Clan were simply confused as the fight between Qrow and Winter continued. At this point, neither side gave an inch. Just as the fight was about to reach it's climax, Ironwood intervenes.
Ironwood: Schnee!
Winter stops the fight and salutes Ironwood while Qrow simply takes a sip from his flask.
Ironwood: What in the world do you think you're doing?
Winter: He started the altercation, sir!
Qrow: That's actually not true. She attacked first.
Upon hearing this, Ironwood turned his attention to Winter. Standing behind Ironwood was an orange haired girl. Just as tensions were high, Ozpin injects himself into the conversation.
Ozpin: Now, now, everyone. There is a sanctioned fight happening just around the corner at the Colosseum, that I can assure you has better seats...and popcorn.
Glynda: Break it up, everyone! We will take care of this mess.
As the crowd disperses, Qrow talks with his niece for a brief moment. After that, he turns his attention to the Kybuck Clan. An awkward moment of silence was felt as Qrow took another sip of his flask.
Qrow: So you must be the group of kids Ozpin brought into the fold? Interesting.
Petro: And you must be Qrow Branwen. Not gonna lie, I'm kinda underwhelmed.
Katooni then elbows Petro. Qrow simply chuckles.
Qrow: You got spirit, kid. Ozpin's gonna call up a meeting in his office tonight. You might want to show up.
Katooni: Thank you.
With that, Qrow left the area as he took a sip from his flask. After the fight, they were approached by Ruby and Weiss.
Petro: So that's your uncle, Ruby?
Ruby: Yep! That's my Uncle Qrow! He trained me how to use this baby!
As Ruby presented Crescent Rose to the Kybuck Clan, the Jedi were still in a state of confusion as to what just happened.
Katooni: We...we should probably get going.
With that, the Kybuck Clan began making their way to Ozpin's office to discuss Qrow's findings.
Petro: Well this turned into quite the strange day. Though I'm not exactly looking forward to being in the same room with that Ironwood guy.
Katooni: Hopefully we'll find something concrete. For now, let's just focus.
The Kybuck Clan prepared for whatever information Qrow had to offer. The Jedi knew that this information could prove vital in their fight against Salem and the Dark Man. What they didn't know was that a plot had been set in motion.
