Chapter Thirteen - The Dark Man

As Beacon was under siege, Katooni and Petro fought their way through Grimm and White Fang as well as rogue Atlesian Knight-200s. Soon enough, they reached the entrance to the elevator that led to the Beacon Vault where they see the bodies of several Atlesian soldiers lying lifeless on the floor. 

Katooni: We have to hurry! They could be in danger! 

Petro: You don't need to tell me twice!

Katooni and Petro then got in the elevator. As the elevator went down to the Beacon Vault, a sense of anxiety fell on the two Jedi. Once the elevator landed, Katooni and Petro began running through the Vault. Once they reached the end of the Vault to find Ozpin lying motionless on the ground. Katooni rushed to Ozpin to check his pulse. 

Petro: Is he....

Katooni: He's....he's gone.

Katooni and Petro were shocked and saddened by this. Ozpin had given them a place when they had none. As Katooni mourned the loss of Ozpin, Petro noticed the lifeless body of Amber in the pods. 

Petro: Katooni? You might want to have a look at this. 

Katooni soon turned her attention to the pod Amber was held in. They all quickly noticed the hold in her pod. In that moment, the situation became dire. 

Katooni: I'm not seeing Pyrrha or Jaune. Maybe...maybe they got away....

Suddenly, Katooni and Petro began to experience a physical sensation of pain and fear. They were frozen in place as their hearts began to beat fast and their breathing became difficult. They watched in horror as Darth Jadus stepped out of the shadows. Darth Jadus calmly looked upon the Jedi. The two Jedi could feel the Dark Side radiating from him.

Petro: That....that doesn't look good....

Katooni: It's him. It's....the Dark Man. 

In that moment, the Dark Man's identity was revealed. Fear and uncertainty fell on the Jedi as Darth Jadus ignited his crimson Lightsaber. 

Darth Jadus: Our long awaited meeting has come at last. I am Darth Jadus, Dark Lord of the Sith. You both would be wise to surrender. 

Katooni and Petro fought through the fear that had taken hold of them. Petro lunged at Darth Jadus with his Lightsaber while Katooni shot a blast of Force Judgement on the Sith Lord. Darth Jadus was able to absorb the blast of Force Judgement in one hand and blocked Petro's attack with the other. Darth Jadus then effortlessly broke through their Force barriers. The Sith Lord pulled them towards him with the Force and began to strangle them. 

Darth Jadus: Submit to my power. 

Katooni and Petro struggled to breathe as the Sith Lord had them at his mercy. All it would take was one single stroke of his Lightsaber. The two Jedi looked around their surroundings to find a way to free them. Before the Sith Lord could kill them, Katooni and Petro used the Force to pull one of the stasis pods and throw it at him. Darth Jadus effortlessly managed to stop the attack before throwing the two away. As they got on their feet, they quickly realized that they were outmatched. 

Petro: Katooni! We need to get out of here, now!

Katooni: R...right!

Katooni and Petro began running for the elevator while Darth Jadus paced towards them. Suddenly, the Vault began to break apart as debris was being thrown at them. 

Petro: We're almost there! Keep going!

Katooni and Petro didn't bother to look behind them. They knew that the Dark Lord was coming for them. The best thing they could do was run. Soon enough, they reached the elevator. Katooni rushed to the elevator controls while Petro stood with his Lightsaber ready.

Petro: He's getting closer!

Katooni: Almost there.....got it!

The elevator doors soon closed, but the red Lightsaber of Darth Jadus pierced through the door. Luckily for them, the elevator began moving.

Petro: Holy shit....

Katooni: We have to warn the others! They could be in grave danger!

Petro: Don't worry, we'll figure something....

Suddenly, the elevator came to a sudden stop.

Katooni: The elevator's not working.

Suddenly, the elevator began to go down. It was clear to the Jedi of what was going on.

Katooni: It's the Sith! He's pulling the elevator down!

Petro: There's more than one way out of this!

Petro then uses his blue Lightsaber to cut through the ceiling of the elevator. Once he does so, Petro and Katooni jump up. As the elevator is pulled down, Petro sees the exit above them.

Petro: There's our way out! We can make the jump!

Katooni and Petro then used the Force to jump high enough to reach the exit. As Petro climbs up, he helps Katooni climb up just as the elevator climbs down.

Petro: We can't stay here! We need to keep moving!

Katooni: He...he might be after Pyrrha! We have to find her and Jaune quickly!

Petro: They couldn't have gotten far. If we go now, we should be able to catch up with them!

Katooni: Let's go!

With that, Katooni and Petro continued their pursuit of Pyrrha and Jaune, narrowly surviving their encounter with Darth Jadus. As they made their getaway, Darth Jadus jumped through the elevator entrance, unscathed.

Darth Jadus: Run, Jedi, run. You only prolong the inevitable.

Darth Jadus then began his pursuit of Katooni and Petro. Soon enough, all of Remnant would soon witness the power of Darth Jadus.
