Chapter Fourteen - The Power Of The Dark Side

After his encounter with Katooni and Petro, Darth Jadus exits the Beacon Vault and begins his search for the two Jedi. However, he turns his attention to a group of Grimm making their way to the city of Vale. It was at this moment that an opportunity arose for the Sith Lord. Meanwhile in the city of Vale, General Ironwood leads an army of Atlesian soldiers in defending the city along with Qrow Branwen and Glynda Goodwitch. As they fought off the Grimm, they suddenly began to retreat.

Winter: General! The Grimm are pulling back!

Glynda: Why would Grimm be pulling back like this? They've never showed such concern before.

Suddenly out in the distance, Darth Jadus enters the area. He calmly walked past the Grimm with little effort. Immediately, Qrow immediately senses something wrong.

Qrow: Something's not right....Jimmy. Pull your men back.

Ironwood: Are you afraid of one man?

Qrow: The Grimm aren't even trying to attack this guy. Surely that alone should tell you something!

Ironwood turns his attention to Darth Jadus as he calmly walks towards them. Ironwood gestures his men to ready their guns as he calls out to the approaching Sith Lord.

Ironwood: STOP RIGHT WHERE YOU ARE AND SHOW ME YOUR HANDS! THIS IS YOUR ONLY WARNING!

Darth Jadus ignored Ironwood's warnings as he simply kept walking, not picking up any speed. Not wanting to take any chances, Ironwood orders his troops to open fire on the Sith Lord. A barrage of bullets begins to swarm the Sith Lord. In the seconds the followed, the area around Darth Jadus was filled with smoke from the gunfire. After a full minute, Ironwood gives the cease fire to his troops. As they stop firing, a tense moment was silence was felt. Suddenly, a red light lit up the smoke. Seconds later, Darth Jadus walked through the smoke with his Lightsaber ignited. There was no damage on the Sith Lord, shocking the crowd.

Ironwood: W...what?! Impossible! Men! Open fire!

As the Atlas soldiers fired on the Sith Lord again, Darth Jadus charged into the battle and began to cut through the Atlesian soldiers with ease. Ironwood was in total shock by the display he was witnessing.

Qrow: Get your men out of there! You don't know what you're facing!

Ironwood: I will not be bested by a single man! Schnee! Get those Bulkheads here now!

Winter: Yes sir!

Winter then contacts nearby Bulkheads to even the odds. Meanwhile, Darth Jadus continues killing his way through the frontlines. Fear and panic begins to spread to all those present. One of the Atlesian soldiers attempts to attack Darth Jadus, but the Sith Lord grips him with Force Choke.

Darth Jadus: Look upon the face of fear.

Darth Jadus then snaps the man's neck with the Force and continues killing his way through the Atlesian soldiers. At one point, they attempt to fire rockets at him, but the Sith Lord simply deflects them onto each other. Meanwhile, Ironwood along with Qrow and Glynda attempt to form a plan.

Qrow: We're outmatched, Jimmy! We need to retreat!

Ironwood: No! We can hold him here until the Bulkheads come!

Soon enough, two Bulkheads arrive and hover over Darth Jadus. Ironwood smiled upon this scene, but Qrow could see that this was not going to end well. Before they could fire on him, Darth Jadus gripped both ships with the Force using a single hand. The loud creaking of metal can be heard.

Darth Jadus: Witness the power of the Dark Side. This is true power! Divine power!

Darth Jadus then began to move his hand, violently pulling the two ships out of the sky. The two ships crash into the city, creating a large and violent explosion. He then raises his hand to the sky and unleashes Force Storm upon the immediate area. Those within inches of the Sith Lord were reduced to ash as they came into contact with the lightning. It was soon clear that Darth Jadus was far too powerful.

Glynda: James! We need to retreat! We cannot win!

Qrow: She's right! If we stay here, we die! Do you understand?!

Winter: General! What are your orders?!

It was at this moment that Ironwood knew what needed to be done. He looked upon his remaining forces which were completely decimated by the Sith Lord. Only a dozen of the hundreds under his direct command survived the Sith Lord's assault.

Ironwood: FALL BACK! FALL BACK!

As soon as the orders were given, the survivors began running for their life as Darth Jadus stopped in his tracks. Darth Jadus watched as Ironwood ran with what little of his forces remained. He watched with satisfaction as he struck fear and terror into the heart of the mighty Atlas Military. He glanced over to the archway where Emerald and Mercury were recording the entire battle. As the Force Storm died down, they were both in shock. Never before had they witnessed something so powerful.

Emerald: Did...did you get that?

Mercury: Every second of it. What the fuck is this guy?

Emerald: Now I'm starting to wonder what Jadus did to end up locked away in that temple. I'm not sure if I even want to know.

Emerald and Mercury watched with fear as Darth Jadus simply walked into the city, not knowing what his next move was. In that moment, Darth Jadus had made his presence known. The power of the Dark Side was on full display as Beacon was in flames.
