You pick up your teacup and take a sip as silence ensued, somehow your hand wasn't shaking like mad and was steady, making you look like a proper confident noble woman. You could feel Sebastian's presence behind you in case either you or your brother wanted something, you were always hyper aware of the mysterious butler.
A composed laugh made your eyes flick up to meet Lady Midfords "well you certainly have grown more confident haven't you" she almost seemed impressed with your show of confidence, but you couldn't get to assumptions yet.
Definitely not confident but I'm glad I'm fooling you "yes I am an adult now, it's about time I stuck up for myself."
"Hmmm. Well don't get to confident, you are still a woman, after all" she responded.
Your eyebrow twitched at what she said, just as you felt your anger surge there was a crash that echoed throughout the room followed by the sound of liquid dripping to the floor. Your anger instantly disappeared, and your head turned to the source, the elegant blue and gold teapot had smashed, the brown liquid inside staining the carpet below.
Correction. You had smashed the elegant blue and gold tea pot.
In your anger you must have accidentally lashed out and smashed it, your heart jumped. There was no way that they could know that you smashed it, the only movement you did was the slight twitch in your eyebrow, but you were still nervous in them figuring it out. Ciel's one blue eye was watching you closely a slight glare aimed in your direction, he knew that you smashed it. It was obvious to anyone who knew about your power.
"Oh dear" Sebastian's voice cut through the confused silence "that teapot must have been poorly made... I apologise young master I will clean the spill and fetch a new pot of tea immediately." Good save, you thought.
"No need" Lady Midford stood "(Y/N), I request a fencing match with you. I would like to see how bad your skills have gotten."
She's clearly not pulling any punches and you couldn't say no, no matter how much you wanted to, the glare from your brother told you that you had to accept. "accepted"
*3rd Persons POV*
The man waiting in the hospital stood as the police commissioner disappeared down the corridor. Sir Stephens was awake, he was heavily crippled but awake. The hidden man had waited long enough, as the nurses were busy and the visitors were too focused on their dying relatives to notice, he slipped secretly into the room and locked the door behind him.
A frightened gasp came from the wounded man on the bed as he recognised the man who had just entered his room, his one working eye focusing in fear. The man in his room was dangerous and Sir Stephens couldn't escape in his condition, the man in his room walked over to his bed standing over him with a threatening look.
"Sir Stephens, I have some questions for you, and I would appreciate it if you answered me honestly" the man smirked.
Sir Stephens only nodded in fear and the man continued on "first off I have questions about that telekinetic girl you had living at your manor. Who is she? And how does she have those powers?"
"She's Lord Ciel Phantomhive's sister, she came to me when the Phantomhive manor burnt down, it was my secret organisation that gave her those powers" Sir Stephens voice was croaky and clearly damaged from underuse and the accident, but he had to answer the questions.
"Now then, what about the Lord Phantomhives butler? Was he part of your organisation? His speed is inhuman" the man smirked happily he was getting what he wanted.
Sir Stephens eye went wide in fear at the mention of the butler "he is inhuman" is all that he responded.
"What do you mean?" The man frowned in confusion.
"He's not one of my test subjects. That man isn't human he's a monster" sir Stephens started "I was the only person who owns a secret organisation with the aim that we had 'to bring forth you inner self"
"Hmmm. How would you know? Secret organisations are secret for a reason" the man said grabbing a nearby pillow. "There could be others which he was part of the testing batch, I'll have to ask around."
"And if you don't find anything?" Sir Stephens bravely asked.
"Well then I'll take your word for it, in him being inhuman" the man came back to the bed "that's all I need to know. So sorry about the loss of your wife... you can join her now."
Sir Stephens flinched knowing exactly what that meant for him "no! Wait! Please don't kill me! I can help you. I'm an asset to your cause."
The man laughed "what use could I have for you, an old crippled noble man who paid others to do his work."
The man didn't give Sir Stephens a chance to respond, he shoved the pillow into his face, slowly suffocating him. Sir Stephens tried to fight back but, in his state, it was completely useless, his flailing didn't work and eventually he lost the fight. After checking to make sure that he was dead the man put the pillow back in the chair it was on beforehand.
The man's eyes looked around the extremely fancy room a disgusted look in his eye, it was way too fancy for someone who was so injured he was in a coma for most of his stay, but it was a nice room to die in like he had.
The man then left the room having got what he wanted, the way he killed Sir Stephens left no evidence, everyone would simply think that he died of his wounds. No one noticed him leaving the room or the hospital for that matter as he left the scene of his crimes.
Outside the hospital his attendant met with him as he was walking down the street, it was extremely casual and wouldn't ever raise any eyebrows from anyone. The man quickly made his orders to his attendant "send people to the Phantomhive manor, I want eyes on them constantly and a report to me every evening. If a single spoon is dropped in that manor, I want to know about it."
"Yes sir" his attendant answered before quickly disappearing to fulfil his orders.
The man hailed a carriage and ordered the driver to take him back to his own manor, he had secret organisations to investigate. The butler was his target. Someone would know who or exactly what that butler is.
