WAKAS
"Lisa, a whiskey sour please."
The lady bartender stopped on what she was doing as I approached the bar counter. I gave her a bored look when she arched her left brow like I said something stupid.
"Corey? Shouldn't you be in L.A.?" She asked.
Right, I should be in Los Angeles getting all the rest I want but hell no. I went damn straight here in Detroit.
"My stepbrother is there, this is the only place my mom couldn't find me." I uttered and getting more bored because I am in a hurry, I need the whiskey sour to calm myself because I just had a row with my mother's current partner.
"Well, you have to wait for your whiskey sour." She looked at me intently then looked on the side, probably the customer sitting beside me. "Because this beautiful lady got here first."
I just stared at the lady that owns a porcelain skin and very Asian eyes, she looked familiar. Habang tinitignan ko siya ay doon ko napansin ang isang customer na nasa kanan at malalim ang titig sa babaeng binanggit ni Lisa.
I smirked on my mind. Oh man, you like this girl. That's what I concluded, because the guy won't stop staring at the lady.
Naalala ko na siya, isa siyang sikat na media personality sa Pilipinas, the famous video jockey if I am not mistaken.
"Oh no, I'm not in a hurry. Please, do serve his drink. I don't mind." Her bubbly and gentle voice is what I heard next.
I grinned and stared back at Lisa, "Heard that, Lisa? Give me my damn drink because I am so pissed." Fuck, isang baso lang bakit di pa gawin ni Lisa, so that I could fucking leave because I have a flight to catch.
Babalik na ulit ako sa Pilipinas, my team is preparing for the upcoming qualifying tournament for the Super Shots Cup.
"Alright."
I finished my high school here in the Philippines, I earned my high school diploma in Adamson University.
"Hey, Ronan!" I greeted him and joined on the table. Ako na lang pala ang wala.
"Hey, Corey. How's L.A.?" He asked then handed me a bottle of beer.
I just shook my head and drank the beer before answering him, "Fucking annoying, Ronan."
Humalakhak lang silang nandoon pati si Ronan, "Hindi mo na talaga nakasundo ang pamilya mo sa L.A."
My jaw tightened as I remembered the sole reason why I cannot stand being with my family. Hanggang ngayon, bitbit ko ang napakabigat na guilt, that damn secret I wish I should not have known! How can I even approach her if I am an enemy of hers? Fuck it.
"Imposible." Iyon na lang ang sagot ko at nangunot ang noo ko nang humahangos na tumakbo palapit sa table namin ang isang babae na medyo nahahawig kay Ronan, she could pass a female version of my high school friend.
"Ronan." Ramona, Ronan's twin sister, called.
I saw how Ronan's brows furrowed, "You look disturbed, Mon."
I also observed that too. Hinihingal pa si Ramona habang hawak-hawak ang kanyang Ipad. Napansin kong mukhang si Ronan talaga ang sinadya dahil nakasuot pa siya ng isang casual business attire na hindi akma rito sa club na pinuntahan namin.
