-Jade-
To be honest, I am so not ready to face school. Facing school, means I have to see Calum and I have to tell Shania's teacher that she has Leukemia.
And I don't think I can do that just yet, but the teacher has to know the reason why she isn't going to be coming to school.
It's going to be worse because this is the teacher that Shania grew up with. She is our second mother basically. She was 23 when I was in her class and now, 12 years later, she's 35 and doesn't look a day over 20 still.
As I walk through the Primary School section, I remember the times where you didn't have to check if people would accept you with what you're wearing. You didn't have to worry about exams and tests. Where all you had to worry about was if you coloured in the page enough and if anyone was looking when you pick your nose.
Those where the days.
"Oh, Jade! How nice to see you! How've you been?" She asks me nicely. There's another thing I miss; the teachers are so nice and polite.
"I haven't been feeling the best to be honest Miss Smith," I tell her. Miss Smith was the teacher I am closest to. She knows about what Jaydn and I sufffered through and she took in Shania as well. She cares for Shania in a daughter way, but that just makes it harder for me to tell her what's happened.
"Oh no dear! Why?" She ask. She puts down the child's book she was holding and looks at me with concern.
"Well, Nia has been very sick lately Miss," I tell her. Tears spring in my eyes.
"Oh dear! Do you want me to make some soup and visit her?" She asks. Some more tears roll down my face and Miss Smith hugs me.
"No, n-not like that kind of sick," I tell her, hugging her back.
"What's wrong with the little brainiac?' She asks me, keeping me at arms length.
"She-Shes been diagnosed with Leukemia." I tell her. Her expression makes my heart shatter. Her eyes are wide and so is her jaw. She shakily brings me in for a hug. I hug her back and she cries louder into my shoulder.
"Would it be alright if you come talk to me when the kids have their Art lesson? I'd hate for them to see their teacher crying so at least they'll be in another room." she tells me. I immediately nod and she pulls me in for another hug.
"You will have to talk to my P.E teacher Miss," I remind her. She wipes her tears and tucks her hair behind her ear.
"Don't worry about that, I'll talk to all of your teachers." She tells me. I smile gratefully and she hugs me once more.
"Thankyou Miss, I don't know what Shania would be like if she didn't have you while she was growing up," I tell her honestly. She smiles dearly and rubs my arms.
"Now you remember to stay strong, I love you as much as I love Shania," she tells me. I smile widely and she wipes the remaining tears off of her face.
"You stay strong too Miss, I know how close you are with her. She is a strong girl. She will get through all of this." I tell her. She smiles and I rub her arms in comfort.
"The bell is going to go soon, you better get going," she tells me. I look at the colourful clock and she is indeed right.
"I will talk to you later Miss, goodbye" I tell her. She waves at me and I open the door and walk out.
I start walking out of the primary section.
The children look at me and I smile and wave at them. A little girl with blonde hair runs past me but trips on a kids shoelace. She falls and my heart falls with her. I immediately run over to where she is and I help her up. She looks at me with the most beautiful blue eyes ever.
