BABY

Today is Saturday. I'm busy pulling out my clothes from my closet. I groaned when I still couldn't decide what to wear. I feel so stressed thinking about what should I wear on our first date.

With my messy clothes on the floor together with their hangers attached to them. I lied down on my bed floppily. I waited for my best friend to answer my call. I played with my hair while lying, waiting for her to answer. I bring a few strands of my hair on my protruding lips. Making it like a mustache.

"Se, what's wrong?"

I closed my eyes emphatically as conscience crept inside of me. Kahit pinakikinggan ko lang ang boses ni Fe, halatang galing pa siya sa mahabang tulog.

"Uh... wala naman. Hehe." I chuckled awkwardly.

To be honest, I felt sort of uncomfortable about asking her to come to our house to help me in choosing what to wear. This is my first time to ask her about it. I have never been on a date before!

"Umayos ka nga, Kreanaseah?! May problema ka ba? Gusto mo puntahan kita sa bahay niyo?" She startles.

Napapikit ako habang pinakikinggan ang nag-papanic niyang boses. "K-kasi-"

"I'll be there in ten minutes. Love you." She ended the call.

I run my fingers to my hair and yelled 'yay' in the excitement in my room. I looked at the time on my phone. Geez, it's still 8 o'clock pa pala ng umaga!? Ganoon ba ako ka excited sa first date namin na kahit na lunch time ang usapan, breakfast time palang naghahanda na 'ko?

I heard a couple of knock on my door. I stood up and went there to open it. My lips parted and my eyes dilated in shock as soon as I opened the door.

Fe, Vico, and my sister are the persons behind the couple of knocks I heard. Their eyes are dilated also, looking at me from head to toe. Like they're looking at something in me or scanning something from me. They individually gasped and held their foreheads like they got so stressed about me.

"Seah, naman! Pinag-alala mo kami. Akala namin napa'no ka na."  Si Ate na parang nabunutan ng tinik.

"Akala ko ano ng nangyari sa'yo!" Si Fe na masama akong tinignan.

"You worried... me," Vico said huskily and rolls his eyes at me.

Bumaba na kami pagkatapos ng pag-uusap na iyon. Dumiretso kami sa silid-kainan para mag-agahan. Pinagalitan pa ako ni Ate dahil pinag-alala ko raw sila. Ang aga ko kasi tumawag kay Fe. Di nila alam magpapatulong lang naman sana ako sa pagpili ng damit na maisusuot.

Pagkatapos naming kumain, hinila ko si Fe papunta sa itaas. Sa kuwarto ko. Busy din kasi 'yong dalawa naming kapatid sa pag co-contact sa mga kaibigan nila. Mag si-swimming na naman daw sila rito sa amin.

"Fe, may date ako ngayon-" I said once I closed the door.

She cuts me off by shaking my shoulder as she shrieks. Nang kumalma na siya, saka pa lang ako nagkaroon ng pagkakataon na ikuwento sa kanya lahat. Tumili na naman siya pagkatapos. Pero hindi na gaya nung una na ang tagal natapos. Pinulot ko ang damit ko at inayos 'yon sa kanyang hanger bago ibinalik sa loob ng closet ko.
