While Cisco was busy in the cortex talking with some of the team, Iris was sitting by Barry's suit mannequin, looking at it. Joe looked over at Iris and then walked over to her.
"Iris?" Joe said, putting his hand on his daughters shoulder. Iris looked at her father and smiled slightly.
"I can tell what you're thinking about. That look on your face is a look I know all too well" Joe said. A tear fell down Iris's face. She wiped it away with a finger.
"I just....I just want Barry to be himself again. I miss him" Iris said.
"I know baby girl. Cisco did say that he'll work on a way to get Barry back to his original self" Joe said. Iris nodded slightly and then left the cortex.
The team all looked on, not really knowing what to do. But what Iris was doing, was something they really least expected.
When Iris reached the particle accelerator door, she opened it and then opened the containment cell door.
"What's this about?" Barry asked.
"I want you to try and kill me" Iris said. Barry just stood there in confusion. He then looked down at his hand and watched as it began to vibrate. He then held it in front of the left side of Iris's chest.
"If there's still good in you Barry, you'll know that you won't do this" Iris said, looking at Barry. Barry looked at her before looking back at his hand. Iris grabbed it tightly and held it closer.
"Go on, do it. Prove it to me" Iris said. Barry looked at Iris again and then at his hand. Then suddenly it stopped vibrating and she looked at Barry and she saw the worried look on his face.
"Iris I-I'm so sorry" Barry sobbed, leaning his head on Iris's shoulder.
"Hey, hey it's ok" Iris said, trying to console her husband. Barry continued to sob on her shoulder.
LATER
"Do you remember anything about before?" Cisco asked Barry in the med bay.
"I only remember feeling anger. But there is something else I remember" Barry said.
"And what's that?" Ralph asked.
"You guys telling me that there could've been another way to get me my speed back" Barry said.
"You're not angry about that now are you?" Joe asked.
"No. You guys are right. I could've tried to find another way. We could've found another way. But I didn't listen. Instead I let my anger take over" Barry said.
"Hey, don't let that regret weigh you down ok? We're all here for you. Especially me" Iris smiled. Barry smiled back and then kissed her.
"I cannot get over you two. This right here is something I ship" Cisco said, smiling.
"Cisco, you've been saying that since Iris and I got married" Barry smiled, laughing a little.
"I know" Cisco smiled back. There was a bit of a pause before anyone spoke again.
"So, how do we do this?" Barry asked.
"We'll need to extract some of your new speed. Doing what Harry did a few years back, we should be able to safely extract some speed and work on how to change it back" Cisco said.
"Do we know how to make that device? I mean, we're not like Harry and Harry's not here to help" Barry said.
"I actually think I've got that device somewhere in my workshop" Cisco said as he then left the med bay.
"While Cisco's doing that, you need to rest. Your vitals are quite low" Frost said.
"I didn't even notice" Barry said. He then laid back on the bed and scooched over so that Iris could lay next to him.
"We'll be out here if you two need anything" Joe said as he and the team began to leave the cortex.
"Thanks dad" Iris smiled. Joe smiled back. Once the team had left, Barry and Iris talked about some plans for the future. Then all of a sudden, the power switched off.
"What the hell?" Barry said, sitting up and then getting off the bed. Suddenly, a flash of red entered the med bay and Barry was propelled violently into the air and he ended up colliding with one of the medical cabinets.
"Barry!" Iris exclaimed.
"Weak!" Eobard said, now appearing in front of Barry, who was trying to stand up.
"I'm not weak, Thawne. Just had a change of mind" Barry said. Thawne then ran at Barry and Barry ran at Thawne. Everyone rushed into the med bay and watched the fight unfold.
Thawne then swung Barry around and then elbowed him hard in the arm, breaking it. Barry yelled out in pain. Thawne then kicked Barry hard in the leg, breaking it as well. Again, Barry screamed in agony.
"Now, it'll be harder to look for him" Thawne said as he sped out of Star Labs with the barely conscious Barry.
"Barry!" Iris yelled, rushing to doorway. Everyone looked on in horror and shock.
