After successfully managing to defeat Mardon, Mardon was taken into custody by the police and taken straight to Iron Heights.

Now, Team Flash were back at Star Labs and were helping Barry recover. While that happened, Barry told them about what Thawne did to him and what he injected him with.

"Is there a way to find or make an antidote for it?" Iris asked.

"I don't know, Iris. I don't think there is an antidote that can be made" Barry said.

"Well, we have to try something" Iris said.

"Maybe if we find that syringe that Thawne used on you and we can try and use what's left in the syringe to make an antidote" Cisco said.

"We could start on that" Barry said, shrugging his shoulders a bit.

"Well, I'll get to work on finding the syringe and trying to use it to make an antidote" Cisco said, leaving the med bay.

"And you Barry Allen, need rest. With what happened, your body needs recuperating. So, no running around and no speed tasking" Frost said.

"Thank you" Barry said with a slight smile. Frost smiled and then left. Iris then stood up from her chair and looked at Barry.

"Scooch" Iris smiled. Barry moved a little to the side on the bed and then Iris got onto the bed and laid her head on her husbands chest.

"I love you, Iris" Barry smiled.

"I love you too, Barry" Iris replied, smiling back. There was a bit of a pause before either of them spoke.

"Iris, there's something I need to tell you" Barry then said. Iris lifted her head and looked at Barry.

"While Thawne had me captive, I honestly thought I was gonna die" Barry said.

"But you didn't" Iris said.

"I know. I just....being there, being beaten by Thawne and Mardon made me think back to the time when Zoom beat me up. It was that scary" Barry said.

"Well, the good thing is is that you're here now" Iris smiled. Barry smiled back.

"She's right about that one" A British voice said. Barry and Iris looked at the doorway to the med bay and saw Julian.

"Julian?" Barry said, sitting up and then getting up from the bed.

"Hey mate" Julian smiled, walking over to Barry and giving him a hug.

"We've missed you so much" Barry said.

"Me too. So, what have I missed?" Julian asked. Barry and Iris looked at each other before looking at Julian.

LATER IN THE CORTEX

"I can't believe all of this happened. And with what happened to Oliver Queen, I'm so sorry" Julian said.

"It's ok Julian. I've managed to get past it with the advice that he gave me" Barry said.

"What was the advice?" Julian asked.

"Keep going. Don't ever stop" Barry said.

"That's uh...some advice" Julian said.

"Well, Oliver wasn't really the sentimental type" Barry said, smiling slightly. All of a sudden, he began coughing violently. Getting the attention of the team. Barry dropped to his hands and knees and continued to cough.

"Barry!?" Iris exclaimed, rushing over. The team came over as well. Barry pulled his hand away from his mouth and he could see blood on his palm. Then suddenly, he began to feel lightheaded. Everything around him was spinning and any of the voices that he heard from the team, were echoey.

"Barry? Can you hear me?" Iris asked in a worried tone. Barry tried to talk but instead, fell sideways and crumpled onto his side, passing out.

"His temperature is through the roof, we need to get him into the med bay" Frost said, putting the back of her hand gently on Barry's forehead. Julian and Cisco then helped to carry Barry into the med bay.

A LITTLE LATER

"Have you found the cause for this?" Iris asked, walking over to Cisco and Frost, who were at the computers in front of the med bay window.

"His blood results came back with high amounts of an unknown toxin. I've tried to find out what exactly in the toxin is causing this but so far, nothing" Caitlin said, having turned from Frost to herself a little bit after Barry had passed out.

"Well, we need to work on that antidote otherwise Barry's condition will worsen" Iris said.

Iris then walked into the med bay and walked over to Barry's unconscious form. She sat down right next to him and held his cold hand.

"Barry, I don't know if you can hear me but I just wanted to say...I love you. You are the most caring and most kind person I've ever met. Nothing will ever change that" Iris said, unable to finish her sentence when she broke down into tears.

Caitlin watched on from the med bay doorway. Tears welled up in her eyes. A similar thing happened to Ronnie when he was still alive. He got extremely sick and was so sick that he was placed in a medically induced coma. She felt like there was nothing she could do except talk about the great things about her late husband. Seeing Iris sitting next to Barry and feeling helpless, brought that memory back.

LATER

"How's Barry's vitals?" Julian asked, walking over to Cisco and Caitlin in the cortex.

"Still not doing good. I've been working for hours trying to make an antidote with what's left of the toxin but so far, I still haven't been able to make working antidote" Cisco said.

Julian then looked over at the doorway to the med bay and saw Iris and Joe standing over Barry.

"Wish we knew exactly what Reverse Flash injected him with" Julian sighed sadly.

"Yeah. Same here" Cisco sighed.
