The next few days were tough. Barry had to be in a wheelchair because if he decided to walk, the stitches would open. But for most of the time, he stayed at home. Resting in bed. He took medication for the injury to prevent it from getting infected.

Iris was downstairs, beginning to make something for Barry for lunch when all of a sudden, she heard him coughing violently. She stopped what she was doing, grabbed her phone and went to investigate. When she got to the bedroom upstairs, she found Barry leaning over the side of the bed, coughing up blood. She rushed over to him and quickly checked his wound. It looked very infected.

"I'm gonna call Caitlin" Iris said.

"No Iris, I'm fine" Barry said, continuing to cough.

"Barry, I'm not ignoring this. Your wound is infected really badly" Iris said, putting her phone to her ear after dialing Caitlin's number.

LATER AT STAR LABS

"Your vitals are back to normal but I'm gonna advise you to stay here at Star Labs. Just as a precaution" Caitlin said, looking at Barry. Barry sighed slightly.

"It's just until you're well enough to go home" Caitlin then said, seeing the disappointment on Barry's face.

"How long do you reckon it'll take?" Barry asked.

"Well due to the fact that you're a speedster, it should only take a few days" Caitlin said.

"Ok" Barry replied.

"I'll be here with you Barry so you don't have to worry" Iris smiled. Barry looked at her and smiled back.

"I love you, Iris" Barry said.

"I love you too" Iris replied. They both then shared a kiss.

"We'll leave you two alone" Cisco then said. Team Flash soon left the med bay, heading into the cortex.

"Any news on Thawne or Mardon?" Joe asked.

"So far nothing. Nothing that will lead us to finding either of them" Cisco sighed.

"Well, we need to find them" Joe said before looking down at his phone.

"Shoot! I've gotta go. I'm needed down at the station" Joe said, grabbing his coat.

"Call me if anything happens" Joe then said to Cisco and Caitlin as he left the cortex.

"I've gotta go down to the station too. There's someone that I've got to question" Cecile said as she left as well.

"I'm gonna go back to the Citizen and fill in for Iris" Kamilla said, kissing Cisco on the lips.

"I'll join you" Allegra said as she then followed Kamilla out of the cortex.

"Well, looks like it's just us in the cortex guys" Ralph said to Caitlin, Cisco, Nash, Julian and Chester.

IN THE MED BAY

"I'm sorry I made you worry earlier" Barry said to Iris, looking at her.

"Barry, it's ok. It wasn't your fault" Iris said, putting a hand on his shoulder.

"I know, but I still feel bad for it" Barry said.

"Barry, you don't need to feel bad alright?" Iris said. Barry nodded. Barry soon started to yawn.

"How about you get some sleep. You look like you need it" Iris said. Barry nodded.

"Can you stay with me, please?" Barry asked.

"Of course" Iris smiled. Barry smiled back and before long, he was asleep. Iris scooted the chair closer to the bed and held Barry's hand. After about thirty minutes, she got tired as well and fell asleep.

Cisco was working on Barry's suit when he managed to walk past the doorway of the med bay. He looked inside and saw Barry and Iris fast asleep with Iris leaning on Barry's shoulder and Barry's head leaning on her head. Cisco smiled slightly before closing the door slowly and quietly. He then turned around and both Caitlin and Ralph were looking at him curiously.

"They're both asleep. It's so cute" Cisco smiled.

DOWN AT CCPD

Joe sat in his office when Chief Singh walked in.

"David, this is a surprise" Joe said, getting up from his seat and walking over to Chief Singh.

"Just thought I'd check in. See how you're doing" Chief Singh said.

"Yeah....I uh, I'm doing great" Joe said, walking back over to his desk and sitting back down.

"Where's Barry? I went to his lab to see how he was and he wasn't there" Chief Singh asked.

"He's at Star Labs. Recovering from an infection that he got from a stab wound. There's a lot of info that would just take too long to explain" Joe sighed slowly.

"It's alright Joe. You don't need to explain it to me" Chief Singh smiled.
