"Oh my god! It works" Caitlin said to herself, looking at the computers in front of her. The team looked at what she was looking at and were all just as shocked as she was.
"What do we do now?" Julian asked.
"Call Joe, Cecile, Iris and Kamilla. They need to be here. The whole team needs to be here when Barry wakes up" Caitlin said. Julian nodded and then left the cortex to call everyone.
Caitlin then walked into the med bay and got to work on finding something to use to hold the cure. As she did that, Barry moaned. She looked at him and saw that he was awake.
"Barry?" Caitlin said, walking over. Barry nodded slightly.
"We've finished the cure. I'm just finding something to put it in so we can use it on you" Caitlin said. Barry put his hand on the oxygen tube in his mouth and then pointed at it.
"We had to put that in there because your health was getting worse" Caitlin said. Barry then pretended to take it. Indicating that he wanted it taken out of his mouth. Caitlin did a test of Barry's vitals. They were still bad but they showed that Barry was able to breathe on his own. Caitlin then grabbed the end of the tube.
"Ok, this is gonna cause you to gag so just hold on" Caitlin said, now pulling on the tube. Barry gagged as the tube was pulled out of his throat and finally out of his mouth. He hung his head over the side of the bed and coughed. He then laid his head back on the pillow.
"Barry?" Iris's voice said. Barry looked at the entrance of the med bay and saw Iris.
"Hey Iris" Barry smiled weakly. Iris rushed in and hugged him.
"We've managed to finish the cure and the tests for it came back. It works" Caitlin said.
"That's great!" Iris smiled, looking at Caitlin before looking back at Barry.
The whole team came into the med bay and were relieved that Barry was finally awake.
"Ok, I've found something I can use to administer the cure" Caitlin said, pulling out a syringe. She then quickly left and came back five minutes later with the cure now in the syringe.
"Ok even though the cure works, I don't know how it will affect you while it's working" Caitlin said to Barry.
"I can handle it, Caitlin" Barry said with a slight smile. Caitlin nodded and then injected the cure into Barry's arm. It didn't look like it was causing Barry any trouble to start off with but after a few minutes, he yelled out in pain.
"Wha-what's happening?" Iris asked, looking at Caitlin.
"I don't know" Caitlin replied in shock.
"Ugh it burns!" Barry yelled, sobbing and tossing and turning in pain.
"It's alright Barry. Everything's gonna be ok" Iris said, trying to calm down her husband. Slowly, Barry's vitals started to return to normal and he started to calm down. Caitlin did a test of Barry's vitals.
"The toxin's gone" Caitlin said. The team all cheered.
LATER AT THE LOFT
Barry was happy to be back on his feet. He still had some injuries from his time with Thawne. The major ones like the broken bones had healed. Which was good.
Now the whole team was at the West-Allen loft, celebrating.
"Now, I would like to say thank you to the team for helping me. Especially Caitlin. Without your brilliant work and knowledge in chemistry, I wouldn't be standing here. To Caitlin" Barry said, raising his glass.
"To Caitlin" Everyone smiled.
A LITTLE BIT LATER
While the rest of the team were talking about things and having fun, Barry was standing outside on the loft balcony. Iris looked over at the window and decided to go and talk to Barry. Besides, she needed talk to him because she had a surprise for him.
"Hey Barry" Iris smiled. Barry turned and saw Iris.
"Hey" Barry smiled, walking over to her and hugging her.
"How are you doing?" Iris asked.
"I'm better. Thankfully" Barry smiled.
"Well, it's like you said before. If it weren't for the team, for Caitlin, you wouldn't be standing here" Iris said.
"I also wouldn't be standing here if it wasn't for you" Barry said. Iris looked at Barry.
"Joe and Kamilla told me what happened while I was in that coma" Barry said.
"I'm sorry" Iris said, getting a little emotional. Barry immediately saw this.
"Hey, you don't need to apologise. You did everything you could to stay strong for me. And I'm proud of you for that. When you and the team were facing something difficult, you managed to be strong. That is something I'll always be proud of you for and something I'll always admire" Barry smiled. Iris smiled slightly and then hugged Iris. Barry hugged Iris back and then they both shared a kiss.
"Barry, there's something you need to know" Iris said. Barry looked at her with a curious look.
"While you were in the coma, I wasn't feeling well myself. So I went to the doctor and they found something" Iris said.
"What did they find?" Barry asked, feeling concerned that it was something serious.
"A certain someone" Iris smiled. It took Barry a little while to finally process it in his mind.
"Oh my god! Oh my god!" Barry said, pulling Iris into his arms and hugging her. Iris laughed in excitement after seeing Barry's joy.
"We're gonna see her again" Barry smiled. Iris nodded and smiled. They both shared another kiss.
