I open the door as we walk out the doctor's office, all cleared of a broken nose. I hop into the driver's seat.
Marcus smiles at me. "What shows are playing?"
"Idk, just google it." He nods, grinning. "They have a comedy."
"I love it."
He nods. "Me too."
"Why don't you call Annie? First, tell our parents where we're going."
"Okie."Not long after, we've picked up Annie on the way to the theater.
She glances at me from the backseat. "Do you two plan to make out the whole time?"
I smirk. "Marcus, should we?"
He pauses. "I mean that would be fun...and Annie would love it..."
"I agree, it would be worth it."
She pales. "You're being sarcastic right? Please tell me you are..."
"Of course we are. You don't have to worry."
"You're so nice."
"We really are."
She sighs. "I find the best people to hang out with."
Marcus laughs. "Now you know how I feel."
"We're here geniuses."
Annie smiles as we all get out of the car.
"Theater eighteen right?"
"Yup."
She smiles as we walk to the register, grabbing our tickets. "Popcorn?"
"No question."
She takes out a ten and gives it to the concession stand worker. I grab the popcorn. "Let's go."
We all head into the theater, Annie sitting on Marcus' left and me on his right.
"Ready to finally relax?"
He nod as the starting credits roll and I lean my head on his shoulder.I glance at the popcorn bin. "I'll get more popcorn."
Marcus turns to Annie. "Don't hog this round."
She laughs. "I can't promise anything."
"Greedy much?"
"Not at all."
I shake my head as I get up, bucket in hand. I walk to the concession stand, handing the bucket to the worker. "One refill please."
They nod and hand me back the bucket. "Thank you."
They nod and I walk back toward the theater. I bump into someone as I turn down the hall and freeze.
It's Jack.
He laughs. "Well look who it is."
I sigh. "We want no part in your bull shit anymore."
He laughs as Iput down the popcorn bucket.
"Well I want you to keep your mouth shut during the trial."
I roll my eyes. "Have we not been clear enough? That's not happening."
He laughs, pushing me up against the wall.
I glance towards the door. I'm all alone... Where arethe bodyguards? I'm gonna need them soon...
"Who says I'm asking? I'm telling you to.I would follow my advice if you know what's good for you this weekend."
"Do you know this is considered witness tampering, which is very much illegal?"
He laughs. "It is? Good thing I have a good lawyer."
"No lawyer can get you out of this one."
He laughs just as I kick him.
He tighten his grip on my arms and I gasp.
"My lawyer can get me out of everything."
"You sure about that?"
I kick again and he glares. "Being fiesty isn't going to help you."
I glance around the theater halls. Where's Marcus when you need him... "I think it will."
Jack sighs. "I'm not going to waste my time arguing with you. You're in the wrong here."
"How? By protecting ourselves, my trying to undo the wrongs you did?"
"You mean you did?"
He shakes his head just as Marcus comes out of the theater, his eyes widening as he spots me.
I sigh in relief. Took him long enough.
Jack' eyes narrow and he smiles. "And Marcus to the rescue."
"Well he won't have to rescue you me if you would act mature and leave us alone. "
He laughs. "I could say the same about you... "
"I'm not the one harassing others."
"You sure about that?"
"Pretty sure."
He bends down, whispering into my ear..."Remember what I said."
"Can you specify? The bull shit blurs together..."
Rage overtakes his face and he puts his hands on my neck.
I freeze. "Hey now, don't be rash.."
He tightens his grip and I kick him. "Jack, stop it right now."
"Nope. No until you agree to listen."
"You know I won't do that."
"Well there's your answer."
I bite my lip as he not only tighens his grip, but Marcus disappears.
Just when I need him...
Jack smirks. "And now you're all alone. What will you do without prince charming?"
I glare at him as he squeezes even tighter. Panic flashes through me as I try not to cry, struggling to breath.
Marcus reappears with our bodyguards in tow.
They all run over, Marcus comes reaching us first, his eyes full of panic. "Get your hands off of her."
Jack laughs. "I'd rather not."
He pulls him off of me and I collapse into his arms. He meets my eyes. "Are you okay?"
I shake my head. "I was so scared..."
"I was too..."
I start sobbing and he rubs my back."It reminded me off..."Reminded her of what? We'll see👀👀 Comment and vote if you enjoyed!
