Hello again! It's that time of the week again! What do you think will happen this time? Comment and read to find out : ) Enjoy!!!
I glance at my phone, biting my lip. I have ten minutes...I pick up my pace and sigh. I really should stop staying up so late talking to Marcus. I can never get up in the mornings...
"Get in!"
I glance up and see Marcus glancing at me expectantly from his car. I jog over and open the door, slipping in. He grins. "This has become quite a habit."
I nod. Over the first two months of school, a lot of habits have been formed for sure. Annie, Marcus, and I spend all day together at school. From meeting up once Marcus and I arrive in his car and Annie to walking through the halls, sitting and joking in class, eating outside together at lunch to meeting up once a week to study after school, we've all become inseparable. And I'd have it no other way.
Not only are they extremely entertaining, but they've been my constant supports. Because not all the habits that have been formed are good. Every day before I even get to class, the teasing starts.
From the minute we even walk onto school property, shoves, bumps, even threats are thrown our way. Every class, we get insults thrown our way, and the sad thing is the amazing administration still hasn't done anything. And Annie can say whatever she wants but until someone gets seriously hurt, nothing will.
Not to say we haven't been hurt... I have bruise upon bruise everywhere u look from being slammed, shoved, or tripped all around the school. Marcus has been there as much as he can but he can't protect me from everything. But he does try.
I glance at Marcus as he taps me on the shoulder. "What are you thinking about?"
I force a smile. "How I really need more sleep."
He laughs, searching my eyes for what I'm not telling him. "I think there's more than that."
I sigh. "This will inflate your ego..."
He grins. "Then tell me!"
"You have the maturity of a ten-year-old..."
He rolls his eyes, biting back a laugh. "That's not a compliment."
"I'm well aware. I was going to say how I appreciate how much you try to protect me and are kinda like my bodyguard."
He pauses, his smile widening as he meets my eyes. "It's what friends do." He pauses and I smile. "Does that mean you'll pay me? Bodyguards do get paid.."
I glare at him as we pull into the school lot, parking in a spot by the door. "What? It's a legit question."
I open the door, swinging my backpack on my shoulder, and start walking towards the school, not even bothering to answer him.
Marcus gets out and runs behind me. "Hey, stop going so fast."
I smile and turn around, smirking. "Why, you can't keep up?"
He laughs and pulls me into a hug.
I stiffen slightly. Sure we've brushed hands and stuff, but nothing like this...and I kinda like it. Does he like it too? I sigh. What am I doing? It's Marcus... annoying, charming, caring, Marcus...
Enough of that...I glance at him, trying to keep my voice neutral. "What's this for? Can the sarcastic one show genuine emotions?"
He shrugs. "It's the best way I could think of to annoy you."
I punch his shoulder and he laughs. "I was joking! You're welcome for always having your back. I'm glad you have mine too."
"Well aren't you two in a good mood today." Marcus lets me go and I smile as Annie walks towards us from the parking lot. Her eyes meet mine as she smirks and I glare at her trying to keep a smile off my face.
